No growth
There is no room for growth. You only get annual raises that are no more than 50 cents. The CEO of the company will walk pass you and don't even speak.

Great place to work: Friendly and curtios staff.
See's has a unique and successful corporate decor that goes back to the Company's funding. The corporate, culture and instructions are successful. And the store fill up with customers from Thanksgiving to New Years. They know know their costumes and have a line of candies that are prepared without nuts in special remote kitchens where nuts have never been used as an ingredient in order to protect the health of people who are allergic to nuts.
ProsEmployees get a free box of candie's every season they work.
ConsThe pace of work in very active during teh holiday season.

Fast paced, Exelent working enviorment
See's is a very busy store, i learned customer service as well as managing inventory. The most enjoyable part of the job would be meeting new people and new personalities everyday.

Very productive and a nice place to work
There are no words to describe this company. Excellent place to work. Constant training to perform your job in a more professional manner. It’s a seasonal position but if you’re a good worker and come to work on time and not have any issues you’ll definitely be called back for another season to work.
ProsYou get to eat candy all day and even at your desk

I enjoyed learning about the company and tasting the candy. The computer system was a little difficult at first, and just when I got the hang of it my employment was over.
ProsSome of the people were nice, discounts on chocolates and some free

Seasonal Only
A good company to work for if interested in only working during seasonal times but if looking for a permanent stay, suggest looking elsewhere as the company is loath to hire people for permanent positions.
Prosfree candy in break room
Consseasonal only, upper management plays favoritism

Reviewing Reports Answering phone calls Resolving order issues This company did not really have a standard protocol so it was hard to follow certain rules. You really learned as you went.

Questions And Answers about See's Candies

How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at See's Candies? What are the steps along the way?
Asked May 5, 2017
First I applied through here, then after a few days I got a call which led to a quick phone interview. Then after the phoen interview, I was invited to a interview which turned to be a group interview. Overall, the interview was quite simple they gave us a overall of what it's like working there and had us taking turns describing ourselves and our work history. I got hired on the spot there.
Answered Jan 6, 2020
Seasonal interviews can start as early as August with the first available training in November. Hiring process is usually a quick decision, but it might be a month or longer before your first day if you’re hired early in the holiday season.

Certain processes could be made easier and faster with a few modern updates. It would save hours to update these process, and those hours could be reallocated to have more coverage throughout the year.

What tips or advice would you give to someone interviewing at See's Candies?
Asked Dec 25, 2016
Smile, breathe and don't be nervous! They want to know about your personality, it's not an IQ evaluation or tea with the Queen of England. Relax but also put your best foot forward and don't be afraid to confidently showcase your best qualities, skills and knowledge about working in sales. See's Candies is a company with really nice people. Don't be afraid.
Answered Sep 7, 2019
See’s trains managers to hire based on personality. You can be trained on registers and candy but you can’t be trained to be outgoing and personable. In many cases seasonal employees are hired on the spot at their first interview. But only if a district manager doesn’t want to make time for scheduling 2nd interviews with candidate the shop manager wants to move forward with. 2nd interviews are often group interviews. They’re with a manager who covers multiple shops and is essentially just making sure the shop manager is right for wanting to make a job offer and job offers are often made at the end of that 2nd interview or by phone later the same day. Just know that seasonal interviews start as early as August when the first available training (which is your start date), is not until the first weekend in November. So you may be hired on the spot and not have your first day until a couple months later. It’s inconsiderate and many people drop out before their start date, but seasonal hiring is extremely difficult in many locations and the only way to get even close to as many hires as needed, interviews have to start super early.
