Operations Supervisor | Williamsburg, FL | Feb 21, 2020
Family friendly; Diverse in culture
SeaWorld is a fun filled working environment and you don't have to worry about being micro-managed. It's fast paced and must be able to work independently. There's a lot of interaction with the guests and the food is good. It's a great place to visit on your days off with your friends and family.
ProsPerks, fun atmosphere, independent working environment, and promotion opportunities
Consa lot of walking and long/ late work hours

Perks Perks Perks
Part-timers will definitely have to find another job to pay their bills. Full-timers will be good as long as they don't work at Aquatica. On closed days (due to cold weather), they don't get paid. There are opportunities for promotions. Be self motivated and upper management can be challenging at times. Perks are great!

Great work environment
All the people that know me knows my LOVE for Sea World, Out of the jobs I’ve had in my life Sea World was my favorite job! I miss it so much. I’m believe I’m their biggest fan. When I left (due to moving out of state) I left my heart ❤️
ProsTickets and employee store
ConsWhen it was bad weather and my store closed

May be productive but certainly not exciting!
Never the same desk or area or person to sit next to to get to know your co-workers. IT is limited and works at a snails pace. IF the system goes down the whole office is off line at times for hours. Management is slack. They need to sit in those seats and do the work then start their demands of verbiage.
ProsFree tickets, memberships for friends and family, being able to go to any of the parks as an employee.
ConsNever the same scheduled days or hours.

Was a great place to work prior to Anheuser Busch selling the parks
When the Busch family owned the parks, it was wonderful, had a sense that management cared. When the parks were sold, things changed, you became a number.

Never a dull moment
Who could be upset about any position that allows you to get up close with marine life? Back when I was employed there, employees occasionally received fun bonuses during especially busy times, such as pumpkin pies around Thanksgiving, free/discount tickets for family and friends, and more. Great people with many moving on to higher positions such as General Manager of other parks.

Fun place to grow
Sea World Call Center really is a fun place to work. Great discounts to the parks, for you, family and friends. Employee appreciation was found through various outings or activities provided on-site.

So so place
Seaworld is an okay place to work in. Not always a happy place to work in depending on who you're working with, when it's supposed to be. Management is not so good. It has changed so much since I first started.
ProsTickets, raises every year
ConsInconvenient breaks (not enough time), don't give enough hours when needed

family environment
this was a great work experience as you never knew where you were gong to be. everyday was different and you got to meet all different people. it was just a really fun place to work, but when they changed supervisors the vibe of the workplace changed a bit and it seemed like they didn't care about their workers as much as the pervious supervisors did
Prosdiscounts great work experiences
Conssometimes got short hours

Questions And Answers about SeaWorld

Do the company pay weekly or bi-weekly?
Asked Aug 19, 2016
The company pays bi-weekly
Answered May 7, 2017
Bi-Weekly every two weeks
Answered Mar 21, 2017
What is the work environment and culture like at SeaWorld?
Asked Jun 29, 2016
My first landscape manager had built a strong family atmosphere in the shop. After he was fired my second managers replaced the family feeling with a dead end unappreciated job. Anytime there was drama or conflict with two people it was everyone’s fault and we were all scolded in the shop like children and if it didn’t stop (it didn’t) we all lost privileges.
Answered Sep 12, 2020
A lot of drama, anytime there was a problem it was everyone in the departments fault and we were all scolded and demotivated.

If you were to leave SeaWorld, what would be the reason?
Asked Mar 28, 2017
Management and upper leadership are clueless and only care about they’re own image and neglect employee input, 5 years and my pay never increased a cent and I lost more than half of my vacation, the only thing that made the job worth the lack of pay.
Answered Sep 12, 2020
I did leave and it was because of the low salary, never got a raise one year because of how broke they are. Management is terrible, all they do is talk bad about you and some of them really take advantage of the new hires. If you don’t kiss some a** you’ll be stuck doing bad work. These people also never get fired because of how many of the workers rather just kiss a** to get their way rather to report it to HR. It’s just a terrible environment.

On average, how many hours do you work a day at SeaWorld?
Asked May 11, 2017
I would work around 10 hours a day
Answered Jun 10, 2018
I clock in anywhere from 7.5 to 12 hours a day as an FSA2 and I usually get scheduled 5 or 6 days a week.
Answered Mar 13, 2018
What questions did they ask during your interview at SeaWorld?
Asked Jun 29, 2016
* Asked about my job experiences * Why I left every job I listed on resume * I asked what the position entailed, she read verbatim, requirements posted on indeed. * Job is part of Purchasing * Asked how I felt about working with requisitions. Not a problem for me, they were a constant part of my previous business experiences and explained my exposure to large and small projects where i worked in purchasing... * The work schedule for finance, does not change, varying shifts were not required of position. * Benefits activate after 30 days of employment * Hourly rate is $13.24 and "up" based on experience. I asked what the range was, she indicated she did not know due to finding out about the position earlier that day... not aware of range.
Answered Nov 19, 2019
Depends on the job. Anything that's basic entry level like custodian or cashier will get simple questions in a group style interview. Anything that is considered to have more authority or responsibility like shuttle driver or assistant manager will answer more difficult and thought provoking questions in a 1 on 1 standard interview setting.
