Well designed system and good management
The system by itself lets me do what's expected from me. Besides, important informations are shared for each staff so that we'll be at the same page. Moreover, there's an evaluation regularly at every six months and personal development plan is also being implemented as needed.
ProsLunch with minimum cost
ConsBenefits are not applicable before six months of employment

Excellent boss and team
There was no real process to extend my short term contract to other departments at Save the Children although lots of help was needed. Although Haiti was still in dire straits, there was no funding for Haiti and my other colleague who was working on Haiti also lost her job.
ProsExcellent boss, good policy team, good hours, good pay, fair reimbursement
Consno long term work as a Contractor

Varied responsibilities, great team, relaxed atmosphere
I was given a variety of projects and enjoyed the many opportunities I had to train and work independently. Though a temp I was part of a great team of people that had worked out great systems that increased revenue for the company with a banner year.
ProsGreat team
ConsNo openings for advancement on this team

Short term position at SC US
Not a lot of opportunity to meet other people, you have to seek them out on your own time and network. Very competitive for job positions, high levels of experience and technical expertise are sought after by organization

Stressful and unsupported place to work
Extremely Poor Management, unsupported of their staff and reliant upon and handed over their staff members to an external organisation for full management. Did not hear or listen to their staff and did not try to resolve the issues realistically rather supporting unrealistic comments from the external organisation.

Career Development Opportunity
This organization provides a lot of opportunities to advance your career interests. I would definitely recommend this organization as a place of employment.

A very reputable organization with strong emphasis on child safeguarding., doing everything in the best interest of a child.
Generally, Save the Children is a good working place and you learn a lot of social and programmatic issues during your contractual period. A day normally started with reviewing the previous day's work before getting into that day's work. having been collaborating with government Miniseries and agencies, I always made sure I represent the expectations of my organization and how we could leverage each other for the common goal of alleviating the challenges faced by the vulnerable groups such as children and women. One needed to understand that from the non governmental organization (NGO) point of view, results of our programming were expected in a short space, while the government programs take time to realize results because of bureaucracy. The beauty is all tools are provided in an NGO. Save the children is a result based organization with emphasis on objectives and deliverables. End of contract always breaks the heart especially when the funding of a particular project has come to an end.. It is like death. Contracts normally run for 2 years and then gratuity is given to staff.Renewal is based on individual performance. I enjoyed retreats where we had a lot of fun.

It has a very productive environment especially for me as I worked 20 years for this organization and learnt a lot from my colleagues and seniors.
Save the Children is one of the best organisation I ever worked. This has a great environment and it gives a lot of opportunity to their employee to groom and use its skills in the best possible way. I really have a great respect for this organisation and would like to work again for this organisation if I ever get a chance. Save the Children is my mentor, my career builder and has a very positive approach towards its employees which other organizations usually don't.
I would like to see it growing so that it keeps on helping vulnerable children around the work. Thanks

I do appreciate after worked for Save the Children Uk and Save the Children international for the past 6 years In Kenya.
It was a place and Organisation one to work with. Achieving their goals and delivering their result to their areas of working in the world.
Lastly you can't miss some big man/Women missusing their powers may it at the Interview point in african countries despite working and exercising their provisions.
NOT Using HR policy of their protocols when advertising but end Up on Leaving to the almighty for the Underminers and sidelining Using Relatives

Save the children has a very friendly and diverse working environment.
Save the children has a very friendly and diverse working environment. The employees are connected with the company's Vision and Mission physiologically. Talent is respected and appreciated. I really had a very good working experience there and I learned a lot.
Despite work stress and work load is a lot on employees minds and shoulders. Sometimes the annual objectives and quarter milestones are not realistic and causes work stress and discouragement for employees.
ProsFriendly working environment.
Conswork load, short breaks.

It is an exciting place to work and the workforce is a bunch of resilient people who make a difference in the lives of many children and communities.
it was an exciting and challenging experience to work with different people from across the world. the NGO environment is quite different from a commercial experience. Being part of the Senior Management Team it was so exciting yet challenging to work within donor guidelines. Lessons learnt was the importance of BVA tracking and project outcomes.
