WORST Management, benefits and pay. Directors and Mgr pure evil! Worse Company to work for!
The total lack of respect from management is beyond a disgrace. You will be called DUMB and talk to and about to other co workers like your trash. The benefits are horrible, pay is pathetic. The entire job could be done remotely but instead they put you in cubicles smaller than my dogs, dog house. No flexibility at all. If you miss work you are shamed and treated horrible. If you're not friends with management or brown nose then this is not the place for you! If you want a job to grow and be treated with respect this is not the place for you! They do not supply you with the basic tools required to do your job, updated computers, monitors (you get a tiny monitor, wore out at that), they will not spend a dime on the necessities needed to succeed at your job. Instead your required to use a laptop that barely runs, freezes up 60 percent of the day, then you get yelled at for not being able to supply timely reports. It is a set up for failure. I have seen 3 co workers have nervous break downs and a few others who are barely hanging on solely because they are the sole income for their families and seem to have no choice but to stay. Or in reality they have been beaten down to the point they truly believe they are as dumb as they are told by the ones who are suppose to be giving guidance and setting examples. If you speak to other co workers with a simple chat, you are belittled in front of everyone to shut up and get back to work, yet the same Leader will chat all day with friends

Slow pace with hard to understand culture
Interesting place to work at least to say. Most of operators and workers are stuck in this "whatever" culture almost I don't care. Reason for this can be found in low pay and 10 years no raise and no recognition at all for anybody. So work hard and care is same as perform at minimum requirements and get by. How ever there is group of employees and low level management who really cares about production but any success or progress they made is quickly swept by upper management to show of to their bosses. More care is taken to keep facility main isle shinny for show then keep machinery and equipment in decent shape. If you look deeper you will see lack of ownership. One of customer comments are "Wannabe manufacturing" How ever life for salary employees, if you disregard low pay, can be very easy because of total lack of supervision. Lunch could be 30 min or 2 hrs. Come late leave early nobody cares. Only training workers receive in my time was ESD training. No safety training's of any kind. Lack of basic safety knowledge is wide spreed. Safety violations are everywhere. Most employees are clueless about lean manufacturing. Any attempt to implement idea of lean manufacturing quickly disappears because of upper management lack of interest. Any good input from low level people falls on def-ears. Floor is disorganized. Frequently equipment is moved around for hard to understand reasons or just because it was done in some other Sanmina plants. And so on and on! I come

Avoid at all costs, if you have a choice
I am not a review writing type. I was recently approached by someone who was considering working for Sanmina. He recommended that I write a review so others can be cautioned. I worked for a division then called Newisys (was acquired by Sanmina and integrated into Sanmina years ago). I believe this is now called Viking services. This was known as the enterprise storage and compute division of Sanmina. This is a terrible place to work for outside of work/life balance which was good. The management here is the worst I have seen in my career. They lied to me at the time of my recruitment in terms of their profitability, their product and financial outlook, market acceptance, and internal culture and issues. This company had not handed out a bonus for years. And people were leaving as soon as the economy improved and there were better jobs outside in Colorado. People were leaving at regular intervals, putting enormous strain on the people who stayed since there were no backfills for the people who left. This division was led poorly and had lost money entire time it was part of Sanmina. This division is managed by some of the worst management I have seen in my career. That is not a hyperbole or exaggeration. And the financial results and the fact that people were leaving in droves can easily be attributed to this bad management, despite a reasonably capable workforce. If a recruiter from this company calls you claiming all kinds of rosy outlook for this division (or for tha

I found this job to be physically demanding
A typical day at work here consisted of jumping immediately into overdrive as I had to first go through the process of doing an inventory of used drills and had to physically open each box of drills to verify the counts and make sure the proper size drills were put into the right casings and make out the purchase orders to be turned into purchasing. Then I had to quickly tear down the used drill kits, throw out the last used drills, save the reusable ones in their respective casings and set these drills aside for the next days inventory. I also had to build up new drill kits to be used immediately out on the drilling floor. I also learned that it didn't pay to allow myself to become overwhelmed, because being one person, I did all I was physically capable of doing and I gave it my all. Management was so-so at this place. I was most often having to hunt down my manager to get him to sign the purchase orders before I could turn them into purchasing and I was under the pressure of having to have them turned in by a certain time and no later. They made people permanent that were falling asleep on the job and I found this to be extremely disturbing as I was told numerous times that their intentions were to make me a permanent employee but I was kept at a temporary contract status. They had some people working at the temporary status for up to 2 years before letting them go. I loved working with the people there and found my job enjoyable in that regard. Educational, and good work atmosphere.
Before I started at Sanmina-SCI I did not know much about electronics manufacturing. I took the job to supplement my electronics manufacturing class during the summer. I worked a 12 hour shift Friday though Sunday using bed of nails testing to check that circuit boards worked before final assembly. My typical day involved acquiring necessary paperwork for any circuit boards I planned to test after I found out which boards final assembly would need after my section and would make a priority list ordered to finish all needed boards as quickly as possible. My section had a large work in progress shelf with little specification on FIFO or other schedule to test parts, so I chose parts by nearest due date for that day, then when everything that was needed was finished I switched to shortest process time in order to finish as many boards as possible. I usually finished the backlog of parts from the weekday by sunday morning when I could then work at the speed of the line or would move to another line and help until enough work built up back at my station. The work environment was calm on the weekend shift and everyone was very helpful when I had questions. Management always tried to answers my questions, but more could have been done to let me know what parts were needed each day. Hardest part of the job was the heavy lifting to move the testing devices from storage to the computer. Some testing devices weighed up to 80 pounds. Most enjoyable part of the job was learning how everyt

WARNING - Avoid this company
I was excited to work for Sanmina at first but quickly realized that this is not a company I wanted to work for, and I honestly don't like having their name on my resume. Many time I have had hiring managers in interviews say negative things about them which puts me in an a awkward situation trying not to agree. If you take a job there WATCH YOUR BACK because your managers will throw you under the bus the first chance they get. The culture is eat or be eaten. During my time here I have seen many people get let go for things they where not involved in. One my coworkers told her subordinate that it was ok for them to work remotely occasionally in-front of me. One day her subordinate was fired and I just learned it was because he was following the instructions of his manager. The sucky thing is she was the one who conducted the investigation against him after HR said something, and just let this kid get fired for time fraud (Which he did not do) and permanently tarnished his reputation because she it a terrible person. She would of gotten a slap on the wrist most likely but he was fired. This is the company culture in a nut shell. If you want to see how poorly the employees are treated just look up the lawsuits brought against Sanmina from the current and past employees, there is a staggering amount. Do yourself and your career a favor and wait for the next opportunity

free coffee and hot chocolate was nice, didn't like the ten minute breaks
basically I have only been getting two ten minute breaks each day working at Sanmina. I would very much enjoy having more time on breaks to eat and use the rest room if needed. I work 2nd shift but I would take a first shift job over second shift. I like being able to move around on the job rather than standing in one spot all day but I will take what I can get. A day at work for me would be, taking over the machine I was assigned to by checking the paper on the board. Then getting the turn over from the previous operator and checking all fluids used in running the press and filling them up if needed. Logging into the job on a computer, then filling out necessary paper work and doing any safety checks needed. I then brake off necessary tabs and trim the parts coming off the belt. I then inspect parts and if there good with no defects they are then packed in a basket, tout, boxes stacked on a pallet or stacked on a pallet using ply wood for layers. If the parts were to be bad they are thrown in a hopper with all excess aluminum to be re melted. If the press were to go down I then restart the press if I ran into any trouble I would then find a set up to help get the press up and running. At the end of our shift I will fill out necessary tags for the basket of parts and give a turn over to the next operator.

good quality and quantity
Every morning that the operator gets to the machine sometimes the operator has to finish the job that the previous shift didn't or couldn't finish. Sometimes operators don't like to work on hard jobs, and the easy way for them to continue working so they can do the quantity required they just leave it for the next shift, without their leads concern, the when the supervisor gets to walk around and check that every lot numbers was running on time, and whenever she saw a lot number that was behind she would get mad at my shift, and even if we told her that the grave yard was the one that left it she would still scream and pressure us, and she never asked or try to figure out what was the problem. She just wanted that job out of the department. So I leaned how to finish my job no matter how hard or easy it was, so that way no one would had to have hard times, and also the time I waste on finishing that job, some one else could do more jobs. And at the end of the day everything is running on time and the other shift won't have to be stuck with that job. And the hardest part of finishing the hard job, is trying to figure out the problem, then solving it, as well as finishing it on time. The most enjoyable part is that almost any one that I asked for help was willing to help, and we al stick together until that specific job was dome.

Hard worker with a desire to prove my ability to benefit a company with my experience and knowledge.
Work with Sanmina plants in US, Canada and Brazil with all critical issue to ensure that they do not go line down and are able to make revenue for the quarters. I've learned patience, the reward of hard work, ability to negotiate with suppliers on critical issues as well as how to escalate to Directors and/or VP level with major companies such as Samsung and Texas Instruction. I enjoy the challenge and the feeling when I succeed. My job is extremely challenging but rewarding at the same time. I enjoy working with my coworkers, very nice being able to discuss issues with them and see how they would handle them for resolution. The most enjoyable part of my job is when I help my plants with keeping the lines running and seeing what may contribution to this has done with helping them. My management pushes us extremely hard to succeed with all issues we are working for our plants and we keep around a 94% success rate. As a team lead I require little or no supervision and enjoy spending time helping my coworker with their issues and seeing them succeed.
Proslove a challenge and hard work.

Upper management just doesn't care.
The pay is poor, and the working conditions are subpar, but if you need a job, this might be an option. Beware when they start sending people home early, though. When they run out of work for you, that's it. They'll try very hard to find you something to do, even if that means cleaning everything in sight, but there's only so long they can get away with allowing you to do that. If you are a temp (Randstad/Coast/whatever, not direct-hire), you have no way to avoid losing those hours from your check whenever they have to send you home. If you make it to "full time" status - meaning you get hired on directly by Sanmina - you can accrue vacation time, but you'll have to use it to cover the days they send you home if you don't want a short check, so try not to use it unless it's absolutely necessary. I do not recommend this for anyone who needs steady income, particularly if you have children, for this reason.
ProsGood people, Well stocked cafeteria.
ConsAsbestos, Black mold, Parking lot floods, When work runs out you become a janitor and/or lose pay, Insurance is horrible and expensive & accrued time for vacation/sick days gets used to not lose pay, Pay below standard, Upper management not supportive, Communication issues make work harder, Bullying & favoritism

Never apply for this company
5 years i work for this joke of a company 5 years of my life waisted.the company sanmina pay employees minimum wage the work on the production floor is hard fast paced which is in a way a good thing but you would expect to be payed accordingly. Communication between workers and Section leader's and supervisors is near non existent as a result section leaders run around like headless chickens when something goes wrong and it regularly did mass panic and confusion ensued and a lot of finger pointing and blaming the innocent to save there own skin. procedures are in place for the workers and any break of procedures no matter how bad is met with severe punishment from supervisors but supervisors and Section leader's can bend the rules to there needs and break procedures regularly with no worries to themselves. The quality techs are massively overworked and under paid they are given there duties to work as well as the work of a quality engineer and be expected to complete overwhelming amounts of work in a 12 hour shift most end up working 13 - 14 hour shifts most quality techs only last 6 - 8 months before they have enough of the work and under Pay they get and leave the company. Over the years I've had friends asking me to drop in a CV to the company for them and I've told them don't apply there is better jobs out there. Bully tactics are enforced by management upon the workforce a lot of workers in Sanmina suffer with depression and stress brought on by working in such bad condi

A star rating of one is too high
Where to start...I worked at Sanmina for a number of months and my time there was horrific. The way the production staff are treated is nothing less than brutal/inhumane. People are always in fear as well as underpaid. The shift is the worst imaginable so if you want to work there say bye to friends and family before you go. There is no communication whatsoever because of the institution in place with people who are not qualified doing whatever they can to hold on to their jobs because they were hired on the cheap. There is no training whatsoever in even roles that are actually somewhat important. You are expected to know machines inside and out even before you have ever layed eyes on them. There are no benefits whatsoever beside the christmas voucher which isn't even worth mentioning. They only positive thing I could say about the place is that it is not officially some sort of prison. There is no H.R. department and no one knows what is going on. I have not ever witnessed nor did I ever hear of any auditing ever happen inside the factory which produces a class III medical device. It is very badly run because there is no communication in general, people are unfit for their positions(cheaper to hre unqualified personnel), there is a huge lack of respect and there is mandatory overtime.. What I say is 100% true. How it is still up and running after 25 years is nothing short of a miracle. Maybe because of a brutal management staff squeezing every penny out of it's o

Sophisticated, productive and teaching environment.
I worked for Sanmina many years ago, but it was the only workplace that valued me as a woman doing jobs traditionally done by men. My supervisor gave me a chance to train in other departments when things got slow and that honed my skills and gave me skilled labour experience that I sometimes still use today. My technical math skills got even better with use of measuring tools like vernier calipers and micrometers. The workplace culture was that of teaching but with an air for perfection and being well organized, above average and well respected environment but getting the job done perfectly and meeting our clients deadlines was always the ultimate goal. The managers, supervisors, floor hands and machine operators all worked together in this fast paced environment as a team. I really respect Sanmina and the management staff who saw me as a barely skilled woman, but gave me a chance to work, learn and earn a good honest living. I got a shift that worked for me as a single mum and that still resonates with me today. They go over and above to keep staff happy, motivated, employed and to hone skills that they may already possess and skills they didn't recognize they had. Great place to work and very fair hiring and working practices. If most workplaces were like Sanmina, everyone would feel proud to be an integral part of a TEAM.
Prosuniform, steel toed shoes, free lunches, free training in other departments, cleaning and free calibration of precision tools.
ConsNo cons to report, we were offered overtime and that helped me with my bills.

What would you suggest Sanmina Corporation management do to prevent others from leaving?
Asked Mar 23, 2017
Pay raise. I was told people have bben there 7 to 10 years still under Coast Personell. A guy said he has been there since 2016 and just got a raise last week. Another girl was hired on after a year and didn't get a rsise. Still making 13.00 an hour. I can't live on that. I was told 90 days and you could get hired on and get a raise. I drive over an hour to and from work. I can't make it on 13 an hour

Sanmina needs more consistency, in the pay, and in accountability. They need to hire qualified supervisors and leads, not just friends and family. If they paid more than bottom of the barrel wages they would get more than bottom of the barrel employees, and then they would have a better quality product with less waste. But upper management doesn’t care about quality or their associates.
