A lot of fun with serious employees work together as a team a positive work environments
I am very outgoing love to smile can’t stand negativity work as a team as well as alone love to help with clothes love to make their day. I make my day by doing all I can for client and my boss by going extra mile I’ll help other employees if they need it. I love people it shows and like I said I go the extra mile loves smiles not negativity I don’t mind criticism that’s how I learn

Room to advance
I work at the valrico location so my opinion may be biased. I love my work environment and my coworkers. I am happy and energized to go to work everyday instead of dreading it and for me, that is so important! I have been with the company for just over 1 year. I was hired during the Corona virus pandemic in 2020 as a part time cashier and I (quickly) worked My way up to becoming an area supervisor all within about 15 months. My store has a great work/home balance and is very flexible to my own personal situations. I feel like We are each other little family and we all help each other out and support one another. My store manager is awesome. She is blunt, honest, & hardworking but also professional, and understanding. My ASM is a true leader and I respect her to the fullest. I am comfortable in my workplace and I can see myself working for Ross for a long time
ProsFelony friendly, Associate discount, good work/home life balance, flexable with your availability, gives bonuses/raises, quick advancement
ConsTimed CPR, short breaks, very low starting wage p/h, majority of female coworkers

It's a job
It is not a place for a long term career, but is a good place for anyone (18 years or older) to work part time. It is a very common place for high school seniors and recent graduates to work. The turn over rate is pretty high. Depending on location, the management team can be can be very good; while other locations have difficult management teams.

Productive retail
I loved working at Ross for 5 years but the holidays can very very hectic. You do meet some genuinely nice customers and then theres a handful of others that treat you bad.

Horrible. Worst decision ever.
The workplace environment is always crowded, theres no organization or anything the point of the job is literally just put things where they go. You're lucky if the management likes you because if they dont they'll look at the messiest section and tell you to clean it up. It sucks because the second you clean a row, you look back and the customers just throw everything everywhere again. Management at my store only liked you if you spoke Spanish for some reason. The customers also dont treat you like a human being. I've had maybe a handful of good interactions while working there but it's not worth it to stay. And when i quit because I was overworked just to receive 150 bucks after 2 long weeks, I was ignored afterward and treated like bottom barrel garbage. So if you want the type of job that you'll come home crying every night, this company is definitely for you.
ProsFriendly coworkers, sometimes.
ConsEverything. Literally everything.

An ok workplace
As an associate you get to experience all the areas of the store. Most of the jobs were easy to learn. Of course there was always something new to learn. The management however needs a little help. There were some people that made it not fun to work with.
