loved working with bonus system
I loved the supply and demand side of the business. Never subsides by the government. No union. Have to work as a team. You have to always give 100 percent effort.

Nucor Construction
Nucor Construction is located in NYC Family Own Business and great to work. There is very little chance to grow as the current employees have been employed for many years.

Good place to work
Hard work but it pays well. The team members are great to work with. Management is a bit controlling. It was a good experience for me but I was ready to move on to a career where I could retire without being crippled.

Questions And Answers about Nucor

How much do entry level production workers make?
Asked Jan 18, 2017
Nucor work make their money through bonus checks. So if the mill part gone down you pretty much out of luck. Base pay is what it's call you might bring home 500 at it's best if the mill goes down. But when it's running you bring home top dollars.
Answered Dec 28, 2019
Entry level maintenance I made over 80k my first year without much overtime. It's now the end of my second year and I will gross over 120k.

Mandatory 60+ hour work week, no work life balance

As a former crane operator that moved over 1 million pounds of stock in 1 shift, I can tell you they value no one... I quit them... they didn't fire me.

If you were in charge, what would you do to make Nucor a better place to work?

Listen to the people that actually do the work for suggestions not the managers and supervisors that are power tripping do nothing people

Hire competent management, not people who screw their way in

How long does it take to get called for an interview ?
Asked Nov 7, 2016
I applied through the Nucor website and received and email 10 days later saying I would need to take a test. I took that test a week after the email, so around 17 days after applying. I passed the test and was called in for an interview 2 weeks later. After that interview I had two more interviews two weeks after that. I was asked to give some information for a background check, as well as asked to submit a hair follicle exam. Those took around two weeks for the results to come back. From the time of application, to my actual first day as an employee, the process took about 8-10 weeks. Disclaimer: I knew NOONE that worked for Nucor. No family members. No friends. NOONE. Anyone that tells you that you have to know someone to get in is BITTER and just couldn’t meet the cut themselves.

I applied here off indeed. once I got thru the assessment test, I got the email for the interview. only took about a month from the assessment test to get the email. I got turned down after the interview.

What is the interview process like at Nucor?
Asked Jul 9, 2016
Toxic people from the beginning. Think they are better than everyone and will make sure they let you know that. Unprofessional and sound like they're doing you a favor by talking to you. Not a place you'd want to work for if thr interviewers are like that.
Answered Jul 24, 2021
Was interview by 3 people who work there. They seemed like they had better things to do and I didn’t feel very welcome. Was very eager to work there prior to the interview. Won’t be applying again in the future.
