Great but permanently closed.
I enjoyed working here. The owner was very sweet and it definitely had a family feel to it but it is now closed for good. It's unfortunate but I enjoyed working there while it lasted.

Unappreciated staff!
Management doesn't value excellent customer service! Allow customers to enter store after official closing time. No chance for advancement or raises for work well done.

Productive Fast Paced Environment with constant New Challenges.
While NO Frills is a fairly relaxed place to work, there are always and everyday new challenges as different thing need doing on a semi regular basis each shift. No day is the same. The management are very professional and with pleasant demeanor but the work is tough, especially if you're alone in the entire department as tends to happen often. The pay isn't great but the responsibility at my level is not that high. Day to day operations mostly take up the majority of ones time.
ProsFlexible Schedules, Frindly Environment.
ConsLargely Physical, Menial, Pay and Benefits not so great.

Not transparent, does not stand by the staff
Too many promises made on the front end to take advantage of newcomers. No loyalty to good staff members, and they will lie to protect themselves, particularly the top 5 of the hierarchy. The owner is a good man, but the rest is very unprofessional.

Okay place to work.
It's fun and fast paced and the money is decent when it is busy. No benefits, no sick days, no vacation time, no retirement plan, no 401K. The best part of working there is the people you work with and some of the customers.
ProsDiscounted food but only 1 meal a day for the employee
ConsNo advancement, not for long term

Great first job, glad I worked at No-Frills, met some amazing people, and it got me by as a teenager that was still in high school/junior high. You are counted on to do your part and to do it right.

Busy and productive workplace
It is the workplace where I can say that it enhanced my customer service skills. Providing customer satisfaction is a challenge. At the end of the day, its always being friendly, giving smiles and solving conflicts that may arise. Working hand in hand with co-workers is a must. Some of the items may not be in the store but you can suggest an alternative.

Not a very fun job
I liked my job when the old owner Dennis was in charge. But Once David became the new owner I stopped liking my job. This is because he changed up the store too much when he came and customers and employees didn't like it so he lots a lot of business so he cut everyone's hours.
Prosflexible hours
Consnot alot of hours

Productive, friendly environment.
A typical day at Nofrills is filled with positive attitudes both, customers and fellow employees, trying to get the days work done in the safest most efficient manner. I would say the hardest part of the job is advancement is slow. The most enjoyable part of the job is that, its an environment you can continuously learn from.
ProsGenuine people
