Hours of work
Loved my job as an administration manager and helping those who have not had the means before to get a job and going through the process with them to help the applicant to succeed just wish my roll wasn't being cut and the building being closed down
Absolute joke . Avoid like the plague . Big bullying culture by management , poor pay for qualifications I held , no chance of progression , no health and safety followed . I was told to work live or to leave the business , so I left.
Job stressful and unrewarding long hours being constantly watched rules are petty everybody looking for new jobs horrible place to work would not recommend steer clear
Absolute worst company I have ever worked for. Poor staffing levels loudly echo this.
Very long hours with forced overtime which is not paid only time in lieu which is useless.
Very poor skills displayed by staff with dangerous incompetence putting others at risk.
Very little or no support from managers and seniors.
No work life balance whatsoever.
The only upside is the police collègues who are amazing and very supportive but do put a lot of pressure on the health care.
Drug protocols very poor and lacking PGDs for many drugs.
Also massive skill fade for any clinician who wishes to move on from custody.
Not recommended.
i enjoyed working for Mitie as it gave me the chance to build as a young worker.
free lunch
diverse culture
interacted with government officials
had to deliver documents to house of parliament
Very challenging place, everyday is different and that's what makes my role worth getting up for. My staff are the best I have ever worked with. But it's now time for a more challenging role
Terrible place to work. Not organised at all a d at first offer a rate which isn't that great untill you start get told its prices they are bad and only get 5 hours of work in each day. Worst company I've worked for
The company is in decline and doesn't engage with employees in anyway, selling jobs at way lower margins than the team are targeted at generates the wrong culture. Poor systems, shocking back office support make life more difficult and no one wants to know the reality of trying to deliver what has been sold.
ProsSome great people work here

Absolutely the worst company i have ever worked for....
I began working for mitie in January 2014. The promise of great people to work with, good management and a competetive starting salary and also the promise of progression through quality training sounded like an ideal place to work. I left the interview feeling positive. I received a phone call approx two minutes later from the interviewer to say I had been successful in my interview and they offered me a job to begin a week or so later. At the time I was extremely happy to have gotten a job after 4 months of unemployment, now I should have seen it for the warning it was. I will however give the company it's due. The training initially was to a very good standard and was delivered well by an experienced and knowledgeable person, you then got your hands dirty for 3 shifts and learnt by shadowing an experienced, friendly approachable(hand picked by senior management) member of the "Team". You are given a uniform free of charge ( almost free) and told that if you leave then the uniform must be returned exactly the same as what they have on record. I thought that was fair. I signed a zero hour contract after reading it and agreeing. Then signed a waiver to say I am will to work over 48 hours a week again I happily signed again looking back another warning sign. The first couple of months were fine as I was happy working and earning. The job then took me to be trained as a loading agent, a big responsibility ensuring the safe loading of the front of a train with hgvs and vans etc.
ProsDrives you to choose a real career and job
ConsEverything to do with management to salary etc
enjoyed my time there, was give responsibility and able to make changes, was quite stresfull dealing with some council tenants, but enjoyed my relationship with the engineers and sum contractors
Very tough place to work
No appreciation for your job
Stressful environment
Bad management
We were treated as numbers and not as humans
All employees signed union at the same time because of the bad treatment given to employees.
Security management at canary wharf put us in the lowest position between other companies working in there.
ConsLong hours, 12 hours standing and been watch by the surveillance cameras.

Questions And Answers about MITIE
What advice would you give the CEO of MITIE about how to improve it?
Asked Jun 6, 2017
I loved my job at Mitie..I had a great Boss..but wages need to be corrected..we put in the work..we are entitled to the pay
Answered May 13, 2020
Simple solution, believe in your employees and start dealing with problems rather than taking the easy option and brushing them under the rug. An example, i was racially abused at my work place but i was sacked when i complained. As CEO of Mitie you have to address and stop these issues, never again will I put myself in such a horrible work place.
