Overall Reviews at MetLife
5.0
Fast paced environment
MetLife was a great place to work. Our portion of the business was a fast paced environment, however I learned a lot during my time with the company. The management was fair and not biased. The most enjoyable part of the job was the focus on team work.

Sad leadership
Very reactive leadership, poor communication, little talent development. Nearly 1/3 of workforce is external, disability evolution is a costly and ineffective farce

Greatest Company, Greatest People!
They hire the best and create an environment in which to excel.
No Nonsense but fun. Great Career Path Options.
Tow the line and you'll do fine.

Productive and fun environment with most of the teams
I have a analyze daily outages and prepare summary document. I have to gather requirements for the each project and work on creating flow chart and diagrams to explain each process. Hardest part is to schedule meeting to get everyone on the same page.
ProsFree Lunches
ConsLong hours and overnight work

I worked at MetLife for over 14 years. The ok only reason I left was to raise a family. The flexible hours were a plus and the yearly raises were generous.

Great people great boss
I loved working at MetLife. Fantastic people and very helpful. They gave me a lot of opportunities to learn new skills and I would be happy to go back to the company if I decide to go back to insurance

Basic commission driven job
Basic commission driven job with lots of bureaucracy and paper pushing. The individual managers are decent but the overall culture is pretty cut throat and typical of corporate sales environment.

Start as contractor, then may convert you to permanent
This is a tale of two cities... contractors and full permanent employees. Both groups seemed very engaged and skilled. Lots of projects and initiatives... great facilities, and many groups to get involved with.
