Great place to work. Had great support from management and coworkers. Flexible schedule. Opportunities for advancement. Loved visiting all my clients.

Great people to work with and for.
I had a great time working for this company. I relocated to Seattle, WA from Texas and it wasn't easy but they did everything in their power to make it smooth for me. Any problems at work where handled fast and professional. My only problem was not being paid over the holidays due to no hours in school district.

Grand Rapids Home for Vets-Horrible Hostile Work Environment
Yes, you can make your own schedule, no they cannot mandate. But they will work you to death. The pay is ok, but if you are offered an incentive...beware you rarely actually get one. Lots of lies and broken promises. The program director yells at us, for going to the corporate headquarters. You get bullied, harrassed. One supervisor if they see you use the restroom will position themself outside to listen to make sure you wash your hands. You get promised $$$, but the lies, understaffed, they cannot keep people. If you are sent for a PEP talk from the boss, it is not good, you will be ripped a new one.
Some people can miss many days, others retaliated against. Certain people are special and get easy assignments for being PETS. They come up with schemes to pay more but at the expense of others. We work short all the time with out any acknowledgement of positivity. 1 person cannot do a whole unit it is unsafe, and unfair. You can only take so many threats and being treated poorly. No one wants to be there. The benefits you pay for, and not cheap, the company provides 1 paid day off a year if you work so many hours. Ypi have to make your own retirement, they do not contribute anything or for health care.
Horrible place due to poor upper management, who treats us very poorly and like we are greedy.
ProsMake your own schedule
ConsEvetything else hostile work environment harrassment

work life balance
I enjoyed working at Maxim Healthcare. A typical day was usually stressful at work. Overtime is mandatory biweekly but the pay was decent. My only concern is, if you start working at a facility with a different skill set (as a nurse) make sure you rotate back to hands on care. Otherwise, you may believe you have years of experience in your original environment of care. Wrong. Example, if you work in corrections but started at Maxim with 5 years of Tele, be sure they keep sending you on assignments where you are actually treating patients who require telemetry.

Out of Touch Office Staff
On the job site, you have 3 bosses: Parents, Teachers, and BCBA. Off the job site, you have 2: Office Staff, and the BCBA. Being pulled in so many directions when the team doesn't agree on treatment plans is extremely taxing. Ultimately I felt that the business manager and office staff only cared about the reputation of the company, not the wellness of the students or their own employees.
ProsPersonal growth and development, exposure to complex problem solving, seeing children succeed.
ConsEffectively multiple bosses, physically demanding and sometimes dangerous.

Started out in the beginning somewhat "OK" for the Non-Clinical assignments.
But to date, they haven't had any new assignments to send me out on since 5-10-2-19.
Not too bad of a place to work if you're looking to fill in the employment gap
Inconsistent recruiter to employee communication regarding contracted work assignments
Company needs to aggressively make a more greater effort to market the "non-clinical" Insurance contracts in Pittsburgh, PA.
ProsFlexible contract assignments.
ConsNo additional assignment for several months.

Requests ignored this season
New employee, with absolutely NO EXPERIENCE, hired to assign all the flu clinics. How she was hired made no sense to anyone. No thought to requests, clinics done for years by same nurses ignored, and distances to clinics and a nurses home locations to clinics disregarded. And now the ultimate kick to the gut...we hear we all no longer have a job as of 12/3! Buy out with no info about the new company and if they will want any of us!!!owners

Nice Company
Maxim was a great company to work for. The people are great to work with. The patients are awesome and the external employees are nice as well.
The hardest part about the job was location. I worked in Heath, Ohio but lived in Delaware, Ohio. If I had lived closer I would've stayed with the company.

Great place for a new career
This is a highly technical but fascinating environment. The management and patient population are great! I have learned so much about so many different aspects of healthcare.
