Great leadership
When I worked there in 2016 the leadership was amazing, I am no longer working there but heard from others working there it is a great place to work, friendly coworkers

Not a good working environment. Pay is lowered
I only worked at Marianos for three weeks. The pay was low. Only 12.50 per hour. I worked in the floral department and did not have much training. Only from the manager in that department. Never saw anyone from management while I was there. The work was not too difficult. There was clean up at closing and removing old stock. No benefits offered as it was part time position.
ProsSome coworkers were helpful
ConsPay is low and management poor

Terrible place to work.
This is a terrible place to work. There’s so much drama, and don’t even get me started on the complete and utter disrespect and disregard for procedures, rules, chain of command, authority, coworkers, quality, time, etc... Working at this place is like willingly sticking your hand in a hornets nest every day and letting yourself get stung repeatedly over and over and over again. Stay clear if you value your health and sanity.

Not a good place to work
I worked in the Floral Dept. and it was hectic as it was in December towards Christmas holiday. Dealing with customers (a few were demanding) and the work load was stressful. Pay was terrible for the duties involved. My coworkers were great to work with but that is all I could say that was pleasant. Would not recommend working at Marianno’s.

Fun place to work
It's fun working here with the people that work beside you. With that being said raises do not come often and when they do come, they are extremely poor.

Very productive and very fast paced
The deli department is hard core labor non stop. Anywhere from customer service, catering, breaking down a pallet, stocking and cleaning. Management was great while I worked there. Many opportunities for advancements if you work hard.

My first Managerial Position, with Bookkeeping and Customer Service Experience
I would open the store by putting all the cash in tills. I delegated jobs to employees upon their arrival and throughout their work day. I filed several reports to Accounting Department throughout the day, handled all cash, and worked behind Customer Service Desk.
ProsI was promoted twice while employed there, and continually recognized for my outstanding customer service.
ConsThere were short breaks and bad hours, no social life.

What I Have Learned
I have learned how to treat customers with respect, how to communicate well, and how to be a hard worker. A typical day of work for me now consists of getting up early in the morning and being able to quickly serve our customers in the deli and make them happy and never disappoint them. While doing so I must clean my workspace and still keep up with the fast environment. The management is a little poor but I still do as I am told and work to the best of my ability to make sure all the customers are satisfied. The hardest part of my job is to make sure the customers leave the deli line happy and make sure we have what they want in sotck. The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to meet many new people.

Needs work
Store i was at was understaffed with low morale. Not many people liked the Manager or Human Resources. Hours were cut with no rhyme or reasons. little room for growth and personal improvement.

Enjoyed the co-workers and mostly my cutomers.
Enjoyed working at Mariano's but my expertise is IT. Retail was not what I was interested in. Looking for more in the line of my qualifications.
But truly enjoyed my customers as they enjoyed coming thru my register.
