Great Flexibility and great customer service opportunities
Very enjoyably work experience. I love the freedom and flexibility. As a part time job this job is a great addition. I really am privileged to meet so many people from all over the world on a daily basis. The only reason I am looking for a new job is because I need insurance and am looking for a great benefit package.

You are your own boss
There is no direct supervision. You are your own boss and it is up to you to motivate yourself. There are many pros to driving for Lyft. There are few cons, but they are:
1. Lyft should set the app to tell the driver where the passenger is going before they accept the request.
2. Lyft should offer cameras to the drivers for both the safety of them and the passenger.
3. There should be an option on whether you want to only accept rides within a certain area before you begin each shift, day, etc.
It is good to help people get to their destinations in your car because you get to brush up on your driving skills. Making a schedule that matches your need whether your a full time student or just need more time with your family.
ProsMeeting friendly people, having a car, getting paid weekly
Lyft took my side when the passenger was a mean person. I drove my own personal car and picked people up. I was a cab driver.
Prosit was my own schedule.
Consthe pay sucked.

Its okay for short term
The pay is really low and its hard to get in contact with them if you really need them. It seems like to only people who even still enjoy working for Lyft are those in the office because they actually have a job.
ProsFlexible work hours
ConsThey don't care about the drivers

Great working environment
It could not have been a better place to work. I enjoyed waking up every day to go to work. They pushed me harder with each task and I was happy with the responsibilities. I gained a lot of knowledge that helped further my career.
Lyft has an amazing culture and is a great place to work, there is unlimited time off, free lunches and snacks. I would highly recommend anyone to come and work for this excellent company!
ProsFree lunches & snacks

Loved my job before laid off due to Covid-19
I loved my job, but I was spontaneously laid off due to Coronavirus. I was given no reason why I was one the small part of my team laid off, so my trust in the company has greatly diminished. I was just one of the winners of the lay off lottery after being told the day before our jobs were fine.
The good: Besides that, I didn't think I would ever work for another company other than Lyft. I was paid very well for my job and I felt like I was actually helping people. The benefits are unreal and the advantages that we had (before covid-19) were unprecedented. My direct managers were amazing people and always made me feel empowered. My team as a whole felt like family and I made some of my closest friends there.
The bad: communication between teams is poor and there is always a lot of confusion who handles what. It got better over my time with Lyft, but even at the time I was laid off, there was not clear communication on who to send different issues to.
The ugly: Lyft has absolutely no clear direction in calculating metrics for performance. Ever team I was on, they had a different way of measuring metrics. You could be doing the job/project that you were told to do, but then get yelled at because your metrics weren't wear they should be because you were working on a project outside your normal scope of work. The metrics were a lot of times the way you would choose a schedule, so poor metrics, even if you were doing what you were told, gets you last pick of schedules. Play t
ProsFree lunches/snacks, incredible benefits, great pay, amazing direct managers
ConsVery poor communication from executive team, poor metrics tracking
Great side hustle. You get to set your own hours and schedule. It's also a great opportunity to see parts of the city that you normally don't see during your daily rituals.

Contractors mean nothing to lyft
You put your life and property at risk everyday with no support or safety features put in place for contractors. Constantly dropping pay and bonuses to line their pockets. No job security at all. Lack of response from company when support was needed. Your treated like ants to do their bidding and then let go when they feel like it. Will put you in debt with vehicle repairs. No benefits and if you speak ill of them they will retaliate against for by limiting your rides.

What is a typical day like for you at Lyft?
Asked Mar 14, 2020
Typical day starts out as drivers come in, we sign them in or we will direct them to a community associate to help them with whatever issue they have. This happens for the next 10-11 hours of the day. These issues can range from getting their vehicle inspected, problems with the app, customer complaints or even onboarding new drivers.

Hours vary to what you decide. I've worked as little as 2 hours and as many as 16. Almost always end up in L.A./ Beverly hills

Do Lyft drivers make more during certain times of the day?
Asked Jan 16, 2016
I have found that in Chicago and surrounding areas you can make between $15.00 and $20.00 per hour not including drive time back home. The biggest problem drivers face is going way out somewhere you don't want to be at the wrong time and driving back to a hotter area. There is a "destination mode" that you can use to alert Lyft you are only going one direction and they will try to get you a ride. 50% of the time it works. You can make a living. Usually 3 hour blocks of time are best to keep it fresh.
