Good school district
Worked in the early education division, at the early education centers. Was a good place to gain work experience. Started as a substitute aid and was hired for a permanent position in less then a year.

Decent salary increases each year you stay
It is a place with well defined responsibilities. Each location is different and there is a lot of division among it's leaders as to how certain things should be done. A lot can be accomplished if you enjoy educating children.

Money driven over student well-being.
LAYSD cares very little about the students' well-being, or about its staff. The only people who benefit are upper management, who push their own agendas, political opinions and personal interests ahead of anyone else's.
ProsBenefits for F/T employees.
ConsEverything else.

What benefits does Los Angeles Unified School District offer?
Asked Jul 10, 2016
LAUSD has one of the best in benefits. When I had my daughter, I was in the hospital for 3 days and I didn't pay a co-pay or anything. Also, when I was hospitalized for an exploding appendix's it only cost me the Emergency room- $100.00 and I was in the hospital for awhile. Also, if you have a surgery it would be covered and free to you. You can't beat that. Hope, that helps somebody.
