Not organized.
Ledcore will hire just about anyone. No formal interviews. No benefits besides payed holidays and even that isn’t garenteed. No lunches no breaks. I saw around 100 employees come and go while I worked there. They are not organized and there is a lot of stress working for them.
ProsMost the employees you could get along with

Pay was the only descent thing.
You are sent to a secluded area constantly on call. Unless you like seclusion and going to dangerous dark sites at 2-4 am in the morning then this is the job for you.

Ledcor mining
Save yourself the time. This company cannot keep people. They were underpaying their miners till they got called out. They do not follow MSHA law in the US. The operation in lovelock is a disaster. The company cannot keep their employees or they terminate them without reason.

No guidance, just figure it out.
This company sticks you out there without the proper tools or training to figure it out on your own. And at the same time have in place overwhelming controls like GPS and digital reports for every day and job.

Excellent learning and self growth
Was a very good experience. People working there were friendly and very helpful. If I had any questions they were glad to help. Also if your willing to learn they would send me off with a fitter and do different jobs everyday. Great great learning experience enjoyed my time there. The G F and our foreman I couldn't of asked for any better.

Great work enviroment and online training courses.
I started out as a Field Surveyor and ended up becoming a Field Engineer within 6 months. Job advancement was definitely a plus. I would go from home straight to worksite, perform daily duties and then go home to complete daily paperwork and progression documentation. Management was not the best though, as well as the training for this position. If you had no previous experience in this area, then you basically get a CRASH course. The hardest part of the job was having quality of life and the pressure of doing the job correctly. The most enjoyable part was being able to learn something new that could further my job horizons and my skillsets.

Terrible company
They do not pay appropriately for the work you are expected to perform, at least for the regional field technicians. You are expected to work all night and then work during the day to complete reports that arent even your responsibility.

A competitive company to work for
A competitive company to work for which inhibits a stressful work environment that can make it difficult for a new employee to integrate into their work force and/or find a right fit within the company.

Good construction tem, poor managment
Ledcor's Site services at Kearl had a great commitment to safety, good foremen and mostly capable employees, but was really hindered by a lack of capable or interested managment at the construction manager level

Good company
Good so far. The work is good, management tries and does ok within the clients restrictions. So far safety seems to be the priority. There are the everyday issues that you see everywhere.

Busy and safe workplace with approachable management
I knew my tasks in advance, had relatively clear direction. I learned to use their in house computer system.I worked with clients and engineers. Management was clear and approachable and had an incentive for safety atmosphere. The hardest part of the job was waiting for construction to finish so that QC could do our inspections in inadequate time frames. I enjoyed finding and correcting mistakes before the client found them.

Good people, always different tasks
We have a large fleet of equipment so there was always something new to do or learn. Most of the journeymen came from very different locations or backgrounds, so they had a large breadth of knowledge and experience.

Stressful and poor management
It was rather toxic from management and you are watched for safety infractions which led to unneeded stress. Lots of competition for training I felt and lack of opportunity for training. If you ever have a major incident and quit or get laid off they will not forgive you and you will be blacklisted from ever working there again should you attempt to be rehired Also alot of favoritism.

Questions And Answers about Ledcor

What tips or advice would you give to someone interviewing at Ledcor?
Asked Aug 8, 2017
Dont waste your time
Answered Nov 15, 2019
Let them know you are interested in a career and of course you should know or be certified in fiber optics if that’s what your going for with Ledcor. I’m in Lexington Kentucky and I interviewed for groundman pulling fiber optic cables. (Airal). Anyway I was myself in the interview showed that I was a certified Fiber Installer and I was called two days later with a great offer and a career!!! But my prescription medicine put everything on hold. Even though I have current prescriptions. Boo what a let down. I would have been an asset to this company and stayed for retirement!!!!
Answered Jan 12, 2019
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Ledcor a better place to work?
Asked Nov 15, 2019
I would probably come down to the site in question and have an open discussion with each employee, including the laborers to get a clear understanding of exactly what's going on. Intimidation from management with threats of your dismissal paperwork is a common occurrence when speaking up.
Answered Feb 3, 2021
Learn about budgeting for a project. Support your staff who have knowledge of how to run a business. They can actually help make needed changes.

How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Ledcor? What are the steps along the way?
Asked Jul 31, 2018
phone interview offered a position as sampler, scheduled a pre-employment pjysical and drug test, started working 2-3 weeks
Answered Aug 11, 2020
It took me almost 30 days. Applied. Contacted and interview scheduled. Showed up for interview early and no one was there. Interviewed with 2 people. They did background and D&A, etc. About 3 weeks later they offered me the job. I was sent to D&A testing in a very bad part of town and my paperwork wasn't in order when I got there. They refused to reschedule, so I had to wait over 2 hours at the testing facility.
