Dont work here
Do u like 7 days a week 12 hours a day? People are terrible to work with and management is non existent. Do yourself a favor and keep looking elsewhere. Place is heading south

Not a good experience. They look for hourly employees to fill management positions.
Very unorganized management staff. Unaware of upcoming changes. Every launch was a disaster. Interim plant manager was a joke. They get rid of anyone with common sense. Kept the butt kissers.

Great career, i miss it
It was 22 years at Lear, at times i thought we would work 50 or 60 hours a week for an eternity, and then in 2007 it all came screeching to a hault like a collision of locomotion trains, I truly miss all that they offered, and if i was still there would be close to retirement. If it was a movie it would be the Good, Bad and the end Ugly.

Good work environment
I would recommend Lear as a good place to work. I enjoyed my time there, I learned a lot and met some great people. The leadership really pushes the culture to be progressive.

Fun place to work
Quick paced, dress comfortably can become very warm in the summertime and very cold in the winter. They always plan fun things for the employees and would rent out Great America every year for a fun day.
ProsPlant shut down twice a year for employees vacations
ConsVery hot

It was a good experience.
It was a good experience. I loved working with the team. The management is excellent and the Detroit location is the best to innovate new technology. Southfield has all the features.

Typical Day
There was no typical day. Each day was a new adventure - the manufacturing industry is an interesting place to work. I like the people I worked with and the opportunities I was exposed to.

Was a good place to work with great people and managment
Over 3 decades working at Lear with many ups and downs over the years in the auto industry.
The place will be missed by many that still needed their jobs as they are unable to retire.
