Bad management and terrible scheduled work hours
No hours. No respect, poor management, no chance for advancement. Absolutely no benefits nor the opportunity for pay increases within a timely manner (less than 2 years between increases), due to NO hours.

The products where nice
I personally would not start working there again or takes way to long to get full time! And management does not care about you all they think of is making money and the budget.

Steady work
Working at the lcbo is great. The manager is great and the job pays well as a student. I was never stressed working a shift because as long as you know what you’re doing, it’s easy work.

Good place to work
The LCBO demonstrated clearly, especially during training, that it was interested in the welfare of its employees. Good company ethos, nice people--great place to work.

Easy job for an apathetic trained monkey
This job is exclusively made or broken by your management. You can be shackled to weekends and evenings if you are not full time or on a rotation to have a social life. Good managers are rare.
The job security from the union is strong and wage advancement is easy, but, takes a while. As you grow in seniority, your hours become more guaranteed.
The tastings are fun and informative. Some customers get to benefit from your newfound knowledge.

Typical retail establishment
There is nothing exciting with this job. The more senior employees stick the new employees on cash all the time, there is no room for advancement, most store managers don't understand the uniqueness of selling a controlled substance which leaves staff in a vulnerable situation. Theft and violence is common and no one cares about it. Just let thrives commit acts of violence and assault against employees. Upper management has no clue about the issues staff at store level face. I would not recommend this job.

I worked at a small LCBO with lots of personality, loved working there but there is no room for moving forward.I will have to move on and find something i can make into a career.

Good money, hard work, bad manager
stocking shelves, ordering stock, cleaning store, helping customers and running cash register. The manager when I started taught me a lot about running the store. However the manager at time of leaving believed in micro managing which doesn't suit a well trained staff. This job was very physical but the customers made it enjoyable.
Prosgood pay
Consstarted to feel like i never left the store, i had no home life
