Factory work
A lot of manual labor, but it helped me get a better job later. I liked the people I worked with and supervisors gave all the overtime I wanted at a time when I really needed it.

I wasted 24 years with this company, if you are not top managment, they dont care about you.
after 24 years only making 19.78 hr. treat the support people horribly, if you are not top management or sales it is horrible. I was harassed by another employee, whom has several complaints, she is still there, I am not.

very stressfull work place
Managers micro manage like crazy. They are very short staffed and they like to keep it that way. 4 people in the call center and only one is full time. They pile on more and more work that is impossible to finish in an 6 hour day. Incoming calls are southern california Scaramento area and las vegas area of customers, store questions, and driver problems. emails must be answered from these ares as well. Customers also pick up furniture as well. There is no right way to answer an email or deal with customer issues. There are 3 managers and their answers are always different. They are never happy and ill pull you into the office to retrain you. When you ask for help they tell you "to think about it" and make you feel stupid like you already didnt think about it. Only good thing about it is you are off on week days but you have to work every other saturday.

No loyalty or Job security. Salary and benefits were comparable. Good working environment clean well lit and great people to work with. Work day consisted of project meetings.

Excellent sales staff.
The laZboy Company does an excellent job, in my opinion, in training their staff on product knowledge. All were well versed and informed prior to the interaction with retail customers. The management at that particular location was very effective and an excellent leader.

Front desk receptionist, interacting with customers, processing customers orders and payments. Like supervising two part-time employees as office manager.

V=La-Z-Boy moved to NJ. This was a good job with good benefits. I enjoyed working for this company. I enjoyed my job thoroughly and was satisfied with the company for the most part.

100% Commission
Being an employee was very rewarding and extremely interesting. I was given the position of Assistant Manager, which often meant working open to close several days a week. Retail requires week end and ALL holidays except Christmas and Easter. If I put in a "bell to bell" day, but didn't have any sales, I was basically giving the company my time and effort for free. When it was good, it was GREAT. After my first hurricane experience, the business took a hit and so did my wallet.

would not recommend
it is not a place that I would recommend to work. the management does not listen to you. management is not forthcoming regarding work hours up front, they do not tell you about mandatory over time. If you don't take their benefits because you don't need them you are not compensated

Fun workplace
Great workplace with great management and fun staff! Job will experience high and low times. Stressful between Black Friday and New Years, much more relaxed in the springtime.
