Overall Reviews at Kwik Trip

Fast paced, room for growth
As much as I loved my job in the beginning, it really turned out to be like any other gas station retail job. When the pandemic first started, everyone was mostly careful and understanding of each other. At the end of the year, no one cared about distancing, respect for others, or taking precautions. Multiple cases of co workers getting tested for Covid, with no one to cover shifts, and the manager did not handle it well. Hours were cut drastically with no warning, yet no one wanted to cover anyone else's shifts. Lots of gossip between the older co workers, and a bit of bullying on the younger kids who were just starting to get into the work force.
On the flip side, you get a free piece of fruit with a paid lunch break (10-20 mins), lots of offers for advancement, a livable wage with higher positions, profit sharing, and you get opportunities to do ID checks. For the ID checks, you get paid mileage, hours worked at your regular pay, a paid lunch break, and no time limit.
ProsRoom for growth, good pay, paid lunch break
ConsGossipy environment, stressful, impossible to get shifts covered

Avoid
The individuals in higher management at the dairy production unit for Kwik Trip, Inc. are not concerned with the personal or financial hardships of their co-workers.

In store work is not what the mission statement promises
I believe that KwikTrip as a whole has a very good philosophy, but it is not in place at a store/district level. There is a lot of potential and growth being wasted through lack of follow-through and training.

Great company
A typical day includes running the cash register. Helping customers find what they are looking for. Finishing duties from a duty list. Great opprotunites to advance in the company. The hardest part of the job is when customers are rude but the most enjoyable trumps any bad day when customers are so grateful when you do something small for them like pump their gas.
ProsGreat Advancements
ConsNever closes meaning work holidays

It was alright
I was a cook at kwik trip so I mean, what do you expect from that sort of job. its fast paced unless its a slow day, counting numbers and making sure the timing is right on the food is stressful

Amazing Opportunities and Environment
I’m about to have my 2 year anniversary with the company. I absolutely love my job and the most of my coworkers. I truly believe that they have great opportunities for advancing in the company and the atmosphere is excellent and fast paced. The work is enjoyable and keeps you busy all night long. As a third shifter it is less busy with guest traffic. However, we do the grunt of cleaning, paperwork, and setting up the next day. Concerns and advice are taken seriously and leaders are very helpful in addressing your needs.
ProsFree piece of fruit, discounts on coffee and smoothies, year end bonus
ConsUnderstaffed due to need for more people willing to work 3rd

Fun environment to work for
A typical work day for me involves making sure shelves are stocked and the store is clean. My coworkers and I work very well together. Management is always open to listen and help with any issues that arise. They are very willing to promote from within.

Great experience and friendly co-workers
Honestly, the only reason I left was because my schedule changed and they were not able to meet what I needed, plus there was poor communication between management and staff sometimes. Other than that, it was a great place to work if you enjoy a fast-paced work environment.
Prosfriendly co-workers, end of year bonus pay
Conspoor communication

Extremely unfair place to work.
Management does not follow the rules that they are supposed to and enforce on co-workers. Often had to work 8 hour shifts with zero breaks. Some employees are allowed to do very little work while others are forced to work extremely hard.
