Iraq and Afghanistan
I worked for KBR on several contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan. I thought the management was terrible, the entire operation was pathetic, but it paid well working in a war zone. In the beginning they were ok, but then they started hiring people from all over the world and unqualified people from the US that somehow obtained secret clearance which used to be somewhat difficult to get. Once they started handing out clearances to anyone the entire company went down the tubes in Iraq and Afghanistan. Everyone knew you just had to play the game to keep your job. What a waste!

Not professional
I worked in Bethesda Maryland for no less than 50 hours per week. Most people I worked with everyday were very nice professional people. My immediate manager was great. I was promoted 6 times and voted MVP twice. The only problem I ever had that was the General Manager. He was a Baptist preacher from Texas who could not accept "most" employees. I never imagined that no matter how well I did my job would not matter. Yet, what I learned inspired me to return to college and earn several degrees. I just hope I have the opportunity to be only judged on my professionalism. I'm sure there are better places to work.
ProsNice people
ConsHorrible management

Challenging
Had to work in the elements. KBR should supply rain suits. The managers did a good job of trying to keep everyone informed. The company, in my opinion, should use less temp services.

Flexible work environment with great camaraderie!
Our office provides great support for each and allows the group to walk or take laps around the parking lot. Very safety conscience and the stress level is very low. It has shown to provide quality work from each and every employee ranging for the front desk clerk to management. I think pay rate for some job titles should be higher or meet the average pay rate or competitive with other similar companies. I guess you can say the work environment substitutes for the lack in pay. Happy to work here otherwise.

After many years the company allowed me to fulfill my expectations in a career. The learning curves were acceptable and worth well. The management teams were based on exceptional project experience.

Provided 12 hours daily support of Force Protection to the US Army.
A typical day at work consisted of 12-hour work with no holidays 7 days a week. I learned to work with different cultures and characters. The hardest part of the job was to supervise individuals with little or no education. The most enjoyable part of the job was to provide the US Army with significant information to make intelligent decisions in support of the mission.

Everyone Knows their Position in completing the mission in support of the Military. When i Started there was no define details on how i am suppose to manage employees and Track Services. I Had to Create my own System from the ground up.
