Poor working environment with a poor management structure
I spent 4 years with this company. Travelling all over Canada and the UK. Proved to show no loyalty and constant change in management. Poor company who feel that by saying the right things it makes them great however, the truth is the Canadian side of the company shows no values.

Good for flexibility
It is very flexible, allowing you to pick and choose when you want to work. However, sometimes can be more difficult to get jobs, meaning you need to put in more time.

Used to better... MUCH better.
OK, HONEST REVIEW HERE... JustEat only recently came to my area (Chester), and I signed up to work for them on a self-employed basis. Got myself supplementary Hire and Reward Insurance for my car at a whopping £160/mo.!!! and bought the big bag (both of these were REQUIRED).. downloaded the app, then was ready to hit the road. OK! Show me the money!! And indeed, they did! At first, it was a regular occurrence to make £80 in 4 hours. Often it was more than 90 quid, and on a few occasions I even DID make the advertised £120-150 a day (but that was working 6 and 7.5 hours respectively). A bad day would be £60, but... today, I'd be lucky to make that! The money was good, it really was. They even paid a £50 bonus for the first 10 deliveries, then another £100 bonus after 25 deliveries. On top of that, we were being paid an extra £10 per shift, as a call-out fee. It TRULY was great. Then... things began to change. The £10 bonus became £5... and eventually disappeared (maybe you get that only at the beginning, I don't know if new starters still get it). Shifts became far and few in between. At first, you'd get 4-5 days assigned to you. Now, there are times I'll get 1 or 2. One week, I even got ZERO days assigned! Fortunately, there are open-runs you can pick up, if they're available; this helps fill those gaps, and I admittedly find myself hoping an open run comes along... but even those are becoming rarer and rarer. May times, you could extend your

Decent pay and good being able to choose your own hours.
Overall was positive, although I received very little training and learnt almost everything on the job and from other riders after many mistakes. I don’t know if I was just unlucky with who trained me but they didn’t tell me how to pack the bags, how to use the app, what to do if things go wrong etc. Lead to a few cases where I was completely stuck on the job because I didn’t realise my chat function was faulty and how to refresh the app etc. For example, on my first shift I wasn’t told I how to use the app and that I had to ask to be placed on pause so I could travel to my area of work from the depot (where you collect the bikes), when arriving in King’s Norton (about 5 miles away from the hub depot) I found I’d been given a job by the app in the centre of Birmingham 15 minutes earlier and then couldn’t contact anyone to delete the job. I rang the hub about 10 times with no answer and eventually I had to travel all the way back to the hub to have it changed manually and no one flagged this as an issue that should be addressed for a first shift. Same thing happened another time where I was ringing and ringing the hub to no answer for about 45 minutes then was given a strike against my name for not completing a job, however when I explained they removed this. Because I hadn’t been properly trained I had incidents such as drinks spilling in my bag because I didn’t know how to secure them and I didn’t realise my chat function on the app was faulty rather than just being ignored

Zone is too massive
Just Eat recently launched for cyclist couriers. However it is a too massive a zone for cyclists. Instead of splitting it into manageable smaller zones the cyclist is expected to cover a very, very large area. Upon sign up it straight forward enough regards going through identity and background check. At least just as deliveroo does, accepts an electoral photographic ID card as one of the documents required to verify one's ID, something of which Uber Eats doesn't accept at all.. Once approved to go on the road, the driver is expected to purchase Just Eat equipment priced £5.99 but upon receiving the equipment required to do the job it is the wrong type of equipment. The equipment required for a cyclist courier is a thermal backpack which Just Eat does provide but rather than sending out the equipment for a cyclist courier, they send out equipment for a vehicle courier which consist of a Just Eat branded bag which cannot be strapped to one's back as it's just that a carry bag with handles suitable only for vehicle couriers. Upon trying to sort it out via email, I have sent 2 emails in this last 2 weeks regards the issue of receiving the wrong type of equipment, I have had no response. Even phoning courier success team on the phone, no one bothers to pick up and left on hold for 5 minutes, maybe more as 5 minutes is long enough to be waiting on the phone after which time I just have to hang up as it's wasting my monthly minutes going beyond 5 minutes in waiting for someone to p

It can be good if you're just looking for supplementary income
They say in the job advertisement you can make £120 a day. Apart from the first two weeks of a zone opening this is possible when they are little drivers. Beyond that time frame it is a complete fallacy. The most I've managed to make in one day is £90 and I haven't come close to that amount since. That was when the zone was new. Once there is many drivers, it can be a struggle to secure the shifts you desire unless you're literally looking to work maybe 10 hours a week. And you'll be very lucky to be given shifts during peak times in my experience. After the new zone was established (Swindon) I have not been given a shift on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday evening for 3 weeks now. They say this is because they need to make sure there are enough shifts for all the drivers, which is fair enough. But don't advertise £120 a day when it's practically impossible. For supplementary income, it's great. Choose when you work, maybe make £120 on the whole weekend. But I wouldn't definitely not do this job as a main source of income. Luckily I'm on benefits so this job is just a top up of income for me. Expect to make between £12.50 - £15 an hour I estimate if the orders are steady enough. Perhaps more if you're lucky enough to be that busy. During the first two weeks of the zone being open, the job was fantastic, I could make nearly £20 an hour every shift, I had the option of picking lots of shifts. But now there's lots drivers, I barely get the shifts I want and don't make th

Employed courier role - London
I joined as an employed courier. (That's one of the new Just Eat courier deals.) Easy sign up process: apply online, got a phone call to check details, background check with Randstad, and then induction and first shift. No tough questions. Every week I set my own schedule (before midnight Tuesday) by providing my availability for the following week (Monday to Sunday) and they confirm my shifts by the weekend (Friday) E-bike provided on shift with great support from the Oval Hub. When you arrive for your shift, you check in at the reception desk, stow your stuff in a locker, and select an e-bike and delivery backpack, and head out on deliveries using the Scoober App. I have support by instant chat in the app, and back up phone numbers for the hub. The work is well paced, and you only have to one delivery at a time. The team at the hub are very friendly, and eager to help. The hardest part of the job is dealing with bad weather. The best part of the job is setting my own availability around my existing life, and work. I get paid weekly. I get paid per hour £10.20 plus bonus. Bonuses are earned when I complete a delivery. for the first 199 deliveries in a month its 25p; and over 200 50p. All my uniform and ebike is provided, so I have no repairs or charge to do my work.
ProsWeekly pay, flexible shifts, ebike use, hourly pay.

Ok for some pocket money.
You work a 4 hour block every day, with opportunities to do more if you want or if needed by JustEat. You usually get given 4 days a week but again, you can cancel whatever days you don't want or keep checking the app for open shifts. The work balance is great because you can choose when you want to work - but the drawback is even working 4 days a week you'll be lucky to make £400 a month. Some drivers like to big themselves up and make out that they earn over a grand a month but that's absolute sh*te. Most busy hours are evenings but its always hit and miss. I've worked friday and saturday nights where I've got 80 quid each shift, but equally had firdays/saturdays where I've cancelled my shift and gone home earning nothing because I ended up sitting in my car outside KFC for an hour without getting a single order. Also YOU have to pay for petrol and car insurance so every shift you're starting on at least -£10 deficit. Average orders pay out between £3 - £6 and you'll probably manage 4-5 of these an hour. Bottom line - easy job with no a-hole bosses breathing down your neck - just you, your music and your car, but not a job you can live off by itself.
ProsChoose when you want to work, No bosses to micro manage you.
Conslow money, long waits, petrol costs, no guarantee of how much you'll make each day.

Good pay but management dont bother
I have been working for the company for about a month now. The pay is good when you get work and they pay you on time so far. You have to be on your phone day and night to get any runs to work and then it’s only 4 hours a day. You contact the management online and receive the same template email over again about availability and work. Had an issue once and spent 45/50 minutes on the phone and still on one answered it. The company does not care about its drivers as their is no management infrastructure if you need help or advise. Overall I would say the pay is good but you have to spend all your free time trying to get work from the app. Support is zero and you have to make your own decisions. Good example was when I came across a driver under the influence of either drink/drugs. I contacted the police and followed the car to the end of my work zone. If I went any further I would have lost out on my fees for the run and told the police operator I can not follow no more. I contacted Just Eat to ask about this policy and never received any response regarding the matter. If you want to waste your days and nights on the app for any runs to come then it’s the best place to work. If not best find something better.
