unsocial hours, boredom and lack of opportunity to progress
To be fair by industry standards, not a bad company to work for. Aviation is still a very sexist industry. THe culture in Jet2 is no exception, but they're not quite as bad as their competitors in the industry. Having said that, I was a woman* doing what is very much seen as man's work, in baggage sorting hall, it was lonely and boring most of the time. Some of the guys were great, others very immature and hard to work alongside, lots of loud, bawdy and raucous male banter, and some language that I found offensive, aside from swearing, though it certainly is irritating listening to someone using the F word every fifth word or so. I was doing work for people who left school with no or few qualifications, so is to be expected to some extent, realistically. The management and supervisors were quite aware of the issues with some of the guys, but felt obliged to tolerate it, because it's hard to recruit enough staff willing to work around the clock, doing boring low skilled work for not much more than the minimum wage, who don't have a criminal record so serious they can't get an airport pass *I now live as a transgender woman having started with Jet2 as a man. This was handled reasonably well, but it is still stressful being myself in such a male-dominated environment. I felt I was stuck in a dead-end and the working hours were preventing me getting enough sleep, it's stressful enough being a trans woman without this, so decided to leave.

Fab company, take care of their staff, love my job.
In my opinion J2H is the best buget airline, regards their customer care, they go that extra mile, and how they treat their staff at any level of the ladder. Everone has the same treatment. Hope nothing changes after this devasting effect the carona virus has had on the travel industry in general.
ProsIf you want to progress in the company you cango onwards and upwards, if you dont thete is no pressure to do so.
ConsUniform and shoes are not summer friendly working in 35 degree heat on the peak of july, August.

Great people, poor management
Great people and departments try to work together but too much of management butting heads and shouting to work effectively. Open office is great, but not when trying to review technical documentation!

Manchester horrible place to work
All the negative posts you’ve read about the management and face fits etc is true. Their bullies, liers, 2 faced. They say about the point system it’s pure ....... Theirs going to be more suicides if they carry on treating the crew in this way. Most of the crew have depression and or anxiety this is NOT LIES THIS IS TRUE I have never been on depressants before until I have started working here. The reason why crew stay is because we feel trapped because the money is good and we don’t work that much so we put up with it. The way they have treated certain crew is absolutely disgusting they need sacking they set up dicaplinaries if they Don’t like you. The management are embarrassing and so are HR their just as bad. They hate you speaking up. If you speak up you’ve got no chance of a promotion your cards are marked. Luckily some of the base management who are bullies have had to go back flying. So the crew room won’t be a breeding ground for bullying. Base management and management at Leeds we’ll not much to say on them other than horrible people. If the management don’t like you they’ll tell sccm to do a bad review on them. A lot of the crew are on anti depressants Some crew who are 21 sccm but the management love it because they can be moulded & manipulated. All the 5 comments on hear are from management

Great place to build your career.
Firstly I've worked for jet2.com for over 8 years. Working on check in, the salesdesk, as a supervisor and as a duty manager. Each day is different and has certainly given me the opportunity to develop. The pay is good and has certainly improved over the years. Has a great team spirit and was a great place to work as long as you didn't mind the hours.

Great working with like-minded enthusiastic people and being part of a friendly and helpful team with colleagues and guests alike.
No day is ever the same. Its lovely when you meet people year after year and they remember you from their previous visits and they greet you like you've been friends for years. The management team at all levels are always supportive no matter what time of day or night, and there is a fantastic online system so that any problems are dealt with immediately. You have to be flexible regarding working hours. Its great being part of a fantastic team and you feel proud to wear the uniform.
ProsFood allowance

Good company, great team, growing massively
Jet2 are a good company to work for, with some nice benefits for staff. Employee schemes, discounts etc. Initially fixed term contracts available, with the possibility of the offer of a permanent contract, based on all round performance. Working in all areas of ground operations at the airport. Working as one team and interacting with other airport agencies. Very customer service focused. Aviation is a great industry to work in but the shift patterns are VERY unsociable and you have to be dedicated and committed to last the course. A very enjoyable job!
ProsGreat team to work with and exciting, fast moving place of work
ConsShift times can greatly impact on lifestyle

How are the working hours at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays?
Asked Oct 11, 2019
Very unsocial, I missed out on a lot of things thanks to having to work. 12 hour shifts are so exhausting one after the other, you meet yourself coming back. Weekends off are rare, split shifts were introduced, an unpaid 2 hour break, basically, which naturally caused a lot of complaints.
