Good place to work
It was a good place to work and great pay, You have room for advancement. You get every holiday off with pay. The offer overtime. You will have weekends off.

The benefits and promotional opportunities
Over my career I met and worked with some great people and great managers and executives. However met a lot of racially biased people as well in coworkers and management. And certain things were allowed that shouldn't have been.

Great experience for people who love tax
great experience, good to connect with people, help local people to fill state and federal tax return. People are nice, and have greate training, love this program.

Want a dull government job?
This a place for you if you can get by a FBI screening and your satisfied in a low income clerical position with acrimonious, old supervisors breathing down your neck. The office equipment is filled with obsolete software, riddled security software and subcontractors who overlook your productions. No dress code, so you can come to work in a ballcap, shorts, and saddles. The building is completely accommodating, including those with a handicap, although, the A/C and Heat may not be comfortable.

Government budget problems led to a long layoff in my first year. Some training never did catch up. Otherwise, expectations were clear. Lots of phone time during tax season.

Other employees and some managers
You must attend a training course for 3.5 months having items explained to you from a book and also take quizzes about what you have learned. This training includes everything you should know to be on the phones with taxpayers. I believe being on the phone with taxpayers while doing this is much more educational.
When class is complete and you are placed on the phones, you must qualify to be on the phones to keep your job. This is stressful if you don't as the IRS can let you go. There are managers who will work with you and try to support the employee if this does not happen.
