Micro-managment at its finest.
Most of these reviews are not Customer Service Call Center positions. I wanted to specifically review the Customer Service Rep position. I've worked at other call centers and this one is very confining. My biggest problem were the managers looking over your shoulder every second. I expect mangers to monitor calls and make sure you are handling your calls in a timely fashion, but this was way more constrictive. They looked at every second you were away from your desk, even if you were trying to help a customer by faxing, which for the first 6 months is on the other side of the room. You'll get criticized for saying a specific word too many times on a call, going to the restroom, how long it takes you to finish work in-between calls and God forbid if you have a cell phone in sight. It's company policy that all cell phones have to be put away while you are at your desk and they can only be used in break rooms, cafeteria and outside. You cannot even step outside the call center and take a call without someone monitoring you like you're in the High School hallway. That bothered me a lot because for the people who have children, it's hard in case an emergency arises. Also, any job I've had in the past your email was basically yours unless management had a reason to look at someones email. At ING, they look at your email constantly. I had made folders for myself when I first worked there to organize all the emails that were being sent to me and I came in the next day to find all my

We worked from a queue daily. Once a document was pulled, it was my job to review for good order and or attach to other documents received. If not in good order,, then I would need to make a call to the beneficiary, or agent if requested by the bene to explain what is needed. Once the documents were deemed in good order, I would then generate a check to the beneficiary, We also had research projects finding beneficiaries of a decedent. This included but not limited to finding the decedent's obituary online & locating the beneficiaries that were listed on the decedent's application for their contracts. Also had to research for checks returned to see if a new check had already been issued and cashed or to find a new address of beneficiary, Once ING outsourced to Cognizant Technology Solutions, gradually most jobs were outsourced to India. Once that happened, Cognizant brought new jobs to our location, and I began my adventure in Customer Service for several new clients. We temporarily helped a health program for Veterans, and then we took on a new well known children's clothing line that had 3 different clothing lines nationally. We helped customers place orders and helped with online issues/password resets. Also handled complaints and solved their issues to the best of our abilities.

I worked at ING Advisors Network for almost 10 years. I began in the company at the very bottom in the Operations Department; I began with faxing, filing and executing various duties for many of the full time employees and their desks. Within a matter of 3 months I was hired full time and began in the Operations Department doing a number of different desks and various Clearing operations. I was most found of the IRA desk, which I learned so much regarding retirement plans, funding, distributions and all the rules regarding all the various plans. I moved to the Call Center and began to be one of the "go to" people with various offices and representatives. I eventually decided to change departments and moved to the Commissions Department where I started off in Commissions Research and within one year, I was promoted to Supervisor. I loved this position and what started off as a department of 3, ended up at full capacity of 7 employees under me. In Commissions Research, we were required to locate, distribute and correct all commission payout on stock, mutual fund and various other trades which were executed. We acquired a total of 4 companies and each company had a different commission payout, different rates, different percentages, and different ways of distributing pay, which always kept the job interesting and exciting.

Hell on earth Call center
This call center is run by two ghetto fabulous women that are loud and unprofessional. If the top is ghetto imagine how the entire call center is run. Training is a joke because the majority of the computers don't work. The training is ridiculous but easy to pass because the answers to the test are easy to find if you take the time too look. All tests and quizzes are on line and my class didn't learn anything but found the answers. This company does not care about quality only quantity. You can even get away with sexual harassment with good ole ING. When a manager does not like you, you are talked about on the smoke deck and they will not hesitate to micromanage you and have other managers watching your every move until they find something. I have 25 years in call center experience and this company by far is the WORST EVER. Unless you are just desperate for a job I ADVISE YOU NOT TO TAKE THIS ONE PLEASE! I enjoyed talking to the people but managers and coworkers suck especially if you are used to being professional. The profanity is widespread and rampant on all levels. This is the HOOD of all call centers! If you have a problem it will not be handled locally because HR is in another state and they honestly don't know what they are doing. If you report what you see you become a target and anyone associated with you becomes one as well. Only hood rats need apply!

My position was multifunctional. Compliance Coordinator - daily review of incoming mail and transactions, generate the daily transaction and check log. Marketing and sales assistant - maintain and order marketing materials and regulatory documents such as prospectuses, order business cards and stationary according to company compliance regs. Office Assistant - procurement, equipment troubleshooting. I learned a great deal in this job because I had not worked in the industry before. I started as a customer service person requiring a Series 6 and 63 licensing. Then on to a more compliance oriented position and Series 7 licensing. The local office management was excellent. I believe companywide ING set the bar for transparency and customer service. My co-workers were all long time employees with a wealth of knowledge that many drew upon. They were often the go-to people for other field offices. The hardest part of my job was staying on top of all of the rules and regs. The most enjoyable part of my job was the people I worked with and the opportunity to help our clients.

ING is a great company to work for, but you need to be ready for a challenge.
Actually, for an Executive Assistant, there is no typical day, because no day is ever the same when working with multiple managers. However, it has been great being able to work for two different departments (HR and Enterprise Risk), especially with all the knowledge I have obtained from both areas. When I first started I was in the Talent Management department, where we assess talent within the company, then I moved to the HR Advisory group, where they actually coached identified talent in preparation for their assessments. Finally, I landed in the Enterprise Risk area, where we manage risk. I have really enjoyed my time at ING for the most part, however, since the IPO, we have been going through a restructuring process, which is proving to be very painful. My co-workers have been great, and I must say, the hardest part of my job has been seeing people leave that I have known since I my hire date in 2004. The most enjoyable part has been getting to know new people, being able to be a part of the ING Marathon, which will come to an end this year 2013. As well as, the overall diverse culture. Basically, ING is a great company for anyone starting out, but it is not for someone who is looking for a place to retire.

De reden daarvan was als hij zei het moet met spoed, dan had je al de agenda;s van de andere deelnemers leeg laten maken voor die belanrijke vergadering en 1 dag van te voren zei hij heel leuk dat de meeting toch nog maar uitgesteld moest worden en dat was als secretaresse niet altijd even leuk. Dit gebeurde best wel regelmatig.Het leukste aan de baan is wel dat je een stukje vrijheid had met het indelen van je werkzaamheden. Ik ben niet iemand die van 9 tot 5 mentaliteit heb dus dan kwam ik ook weleens een dagje iets later op het werk. Mijn collega's gingen we altijd erg goed met elkaar om, als er iemand ziek was werd zonder problemen haar werkzaamheden over genomen, dus we waren erg collegialiteit. De Directie, die hadden best wel vaak de deur gesloten. Als je een handtekening moest hebben voor een bepaalde opdracht oa inhuren medewerker dan was dat best weleens vervelend. Ook al wist je dat de directeur niet altijd n vergadering zat. Ik heb wel geleerd om assertiever te zijn, om te zeggen dat ik echt met spoed die handtekening nodig heb. Ook naar mijn manager heb ik gezegd: weet je zeker dat de vergadering doorgaat en dat ik het niet leuk vind om agenda's leeg te laten maken en wij op het laatste moment toch zeggen dat het niet doorgaat. Es menschelt negativ sehr : Teamleiterinnen sehen einen ohne wirklichen Grund als potentielle Konkurrenz, (wenn man vorher mal mal Führungsposten hatte, kann man ja nur auf ihren Job schielen), sorgen dafür, dass man negativ da steht, obwohl man in 6-wöchigere Schulung die beste TN war. Es werden bewusst Fehlinformationen gegeben, wenn man sich darauf beruft, kann die Aufnahme des Vespräches nicht abgehört werden, man wird als Lügner dargestellt. Resortleiter glaubt nur den (weiblichen) TL. Positive Bewertungen männlicher TL werden als unwesentlich abgetan. MA in Probezeit, hochmotiviert, werden benutzt um personelle Saisonspitzen abzudecken, übernommen werden erstaunlicherweise nur die, die auf Empfehlung eines anderen MA kamen (wofür der x00,00€ Bonus kriegt). Beispiel: die gleichzeitig angefangene Kollegin, die über Schwester kam, Kunden erklärt , mit Wertpapieren haben wir niiiichts zu tun, wir sind seriös.. AG? Neeeeiiin, das hat mit Aktien nichts zu tun — werden übernommen, vermutlich weil die Damen TL sie als ungefährlich einstufen. Absoluter PSychoterror und Mobbing, ich habe schließlich bewusst um Kündigung gebeten, weil mich das krank machte. Und ich bin einiges gewohnt, war schon selber Team- und Betriebsleitung. Wegen dem unverschämt schlechten Zeugnis, mit dem sie die Kündigung rechtfertigten, hätte ich sie verklagen können und sollen- ich war aber letztlich zu froh, dort wegzubringen und wollte nichts mehr damit zu tun haben. Buen clima para un trabajo de calidad en general. Tal vez se necesitaría algo más de estímulo en el desarrollo profesional para no perder talento
Es muy interesante no poder establecer días "típicos" de trabajo. El ritmo exigía rapidez, estar alerta permanentemente, concentración. Era divertido. Aprendí muchísimo en todos los sentidos. Tal vez destaco la necesidad de establecer mis propios espacios para pensar, observar en la distancia y analizar el rumbo que debía tomar el negocio, la empresa nunca los iba a propiciar, aprendí a hacerlo por mí misma y fue muy interesante. En cuanto a la gerencia, valoro de forma importante que se le conceda importancia al desarrollo, no solo desde un punto de vista teórico. Con los colegas apenas teníamos contacto ya que era todo muy rápido y no daba lugar a conocerse más a fondo pero, en general, era un buen equipo. Sinceramente, no puedo decir que hubiese partes más difíciles ya que aquello que tal vez pudiera pesarte un poco más, me hizo aprender tanto, que he de agradecer que haya estado en mi trayectoria profesional. Sinceramente no, todo estuvo bien. Sólo necesitaba más desarrollo profesional. Éste y querer dedicarme a los RRHH, especialmente selección de personas y formación y desarrollo adonde soy francamente buena me hicieron abandonar el proyecto. En cierta medida el aprendizaje en esta empresa ha formado lo que hoy soy como profesional así que siento un profundo agradecimiento por haber tenido la oportunidad más allá de destacar cuestiones particulares del trabajo.

Dynamische omgeving met veel ontwikkelingen
Werk is duidelijker veranderd: meer verantwoordelijkheid, meer ownership, meer diepgang. Samenwerken in groepen van 8 mensen, zelf aan de slag gaan met planning. Ook persoonlijk heb ik steeds meer aspecten van het werk leren kennen: werkinstructie geschreven, opleiding gegeven, inhoudelijk aanspreekpunt voor mijn collega's, naar andere afdelingen toe om te kijken hoe complexe verzoeken toch in een keer op te lossen zijn, contact met productmanagers over het verbeteren van formulieren. In drie jaar tijd op drie verschillende afdelingen aan het werk geweest, en steeds goed doorgegroeid. Goede cijfers op het gebied van snelheid en nauwkeurigheid, en vooral de laatste periode zijn mijn collega's en mijn leidinggevende heel erg positief over mijn functioneren, ze vinden het jammer dat mijn contractperiode erop zit. Het leukste is om complexe verzoeken toch tot een goed einde te brengen; het is prettig om hiervoor positieve feedback te krijgen van klanten, accountmanagers e.d. Daarnaast geeft het heel veel voeldoening dat mijn collega's vaak inhoudelijke vragen aan mij stellen en dat ik ze daar ook goed bij kan helpen. Het moeilijke vind ik het geconcentreerd blijven werken in een rumoerige omgeving. Het werk komt veelal digitaal binnen via de kantoren, wat betekent dat het werk steeds later op de dag begint; bij particulier openen begon ik elke dag om half 12 of later, bij zakelijk om 9 uur, 10 uur of half 12. Dit vraagt de nodige flexibiliteit van de werknemers.

Encouraged to leave work at a decent time. When staying late, there must be an explanation, correct negative reasons and find solution, such as hire more if too much work load or assign workload elsewhere/someone else.
