Overall Reviews at Hy-Vee, Inc.
4.0
value of the service and customer
Typically working at Hyvee is laid back, not very stressful; depending on the time. The best part about the job is getting to know people and helping them with whatever they need.

I would still be there had my arthritis hadn't have pained me so much.
I loved working at HyVee. My fellow employees and management were awesome to work with. My customers became friends. The job was challenging just what I like in a job. Everyday was something different.

Productive workplace with hard working employees
Great employer to work for. Department managers handle their areas with great efficiency. Lots of selection to satisfy customer needs. Employees work well together.

Don't expect much
This company is working on cutting off most of their dedicated full time employees, just so that they don't have to give benefits. Front end managers get payed almost the same as checkers. Being a grocery store checker is the worst thing to do in retail. They don't accommodate their elderly employees. But if you find the right department, you could be happy. 28 hrs max part time.

This company needs to stop telling people they are the best place to work.
The chance at getting full time is almost zero. They will hire more people while simultaneously cutting hours. The pay is below the majority of the competitors.

Great for people still in school.
Been working for Hy-Vee for six years now and have loved the flexibility with my high school and college classes. I highly recommend this job for anyone that is still in school. They have many different departments to work in that can suit your needs.

I like to have weekends free
I prefer to have weekends free because my husband travels with his job. I don't get many Saturdays free from work with Hy-Vee. I also feel the pay isn't as good as I had been told it would be.

Best Job!
A typical day at work as a Starbucks Barista consists of making drinks for customers, taking orders, placing truck and food orders, restocking inventory, training new baristas, providing guidance to baristas, etc.
