Overall Reviews at Hungry Jack's

Terrible ownership
No work life balance. Owner enjoys making employees cry and tears them down and threatens job security often no matter how hard you work or how long you have been there. Only a good place to work if you want to be degraded as an individual and lose all self esteem. This place sucks you in like a black hole that you can’t get out of.
***They will pay you very well so you feel like you have no other choice than to accept the emotional abuse and continue to work there with no better way out!! I worked here for years and even managed here, I am not being biased. R U N if you value your freedom.
ProsPay is insanely good
ConsOwnership, no work life balance

hungry jacks
my typical day consisted of serving and greeting customers. I made burgers at the back of house. I used to clean dishes, pick up dishes and clean the toilets and mop the floors , walls, windows. I used to dispose all of the rubbish. I used to take orders at the front of house. My management was good with me except few. Workplace culture was alright but there was a lot of racism. The hardest part of the job was dealing with conflict and racism. The most enjoyable part of my job was getting to work for a well known company and being able to make my customers happy at the end of the day. Also, achieving the set targets for the day.
Prosdiscounts (50%), got to interact with various people and served both front and back of house

Working
Abusive management to young workers.rude and management threaten you with warnings and termination for basic misunderstandings.i was told I might need psychiatric help because I couldn't remember an exact conversation with a fellow staff member.some workers a great but management deffernatly abuses of young workers and they get away with it.worse thing is you question yourself as you see management as mentors and this kind of things happen.very sad especially when its happening to multiple staff at same outlet.wish I'd never worked there and finding advice any one to if managemwnt culture doesn't change and they stop abusing and power tripping on young kids.
ProsExtra money
ConsAppalling management to staff, spit shifts, understaffing.

Good starting job.
Great place to start off working. Good pay due to minimum wage in Australia, good co-workers and responsible manager. Hard to get in due to being a popular job.

Analise
Serving customers, preparing food, cleaning.
How to complete orders quickly and how to talk to customers and keep a continuous service running. I learnt how to work as a team with my co-workers.
Management was great, i got along well with my boss and my manager's.
All my co-worker's were lovely and nice, and we always helped each other work as a team.
The stress of continuos customers arriving, though we put our minds to it and worked as a team to complete our job.
I enjoyed preparing and working with food. It was a very enjoyable job and I had a great time working there
ProsGreat staff, helpful team
ConsThe low wage

unfair in some circumstances
a manager had to let me go due to me unable to get shoe size ? even though a date was given on it being ordered in for a shoe order size 17 might i add so they called a replacement in while i was there which i found quite rude and due to the fact i had hard cap army boots for the time being they would not allow me to work due to lace fragments flying through the air even though it was sealed laces
think this is a very unfair place to work at due to culture choosing
Prossome friendly staff
Consunfair dismissal

Stressful work environment
unenjoyable working under extreme pressure with the amount of customers, Team not working together and managers screeching at you in front of customers? to make the team run smoothly which never happened you had to have everyone working together as a whole team even though we were working individually we need burgers up on time to get them out on time. I was doing a lot of other peoples work I get paid less than them and i'm doing more work than them on a daily basis. Managers taking advantage of you making you work long hours without breaks sometimes, some managers would not pay you after 12am when I used to stay till 12.30am-1am .calling you into work on your days off is a burden especially if you haven't put your name down on call for that day.
ProsFriends, Customers, Skills i have learnt.
ConsMissing breaks, long hours, short hours, Work place bullying from managers

Hungry jacks
Well when I work at hungry jacks I made lots of friends and had lots of fun with them but after a while I started to get treated like I didn’t belong so I decided to quit and a new career.

Productive and fast paced
I was employed here part time as i was still at school. During my time there i learnt a lot about how the fast food industry works and how to ensure that the customers are looked after, their order is correct and that they are treat with respect. This is where i learnt that food preparation is a must, there is not enough time to try and prepare during the shift especially if it is a busy shift, always make sure that the prep is done before your shift.

While I worked at Hungry Jacks, I was not learning much from there.
I am so compassionate to work in a environment where you everyday learn new things, which the best place would be retail stores/companies to learn about management, communicating and proactively learn about whole new products and most importantly providing the consumers the best service, which Hungry Jacks is not the place to do that.
My co-workers always been supportive and nothing ever been hard to do at the workplace.

Store
store is so dirty and disgusting, i would never let my child or any of my friends work in a place like this as there is mold in their orange juice machine and behind alot of machines.

fun working place, lacked organisation.
Although hungry jacks was an enjoyable place to work it lacked successful systems and management. Rosters were hardly ever posted and the salary wasn't enough to live on.
