Home Base is a great place to work for and gain knowledge and experience in the social work field. I have gained very much knowledge of the court system and of the social work field.

Flexible working enviroment
Job flexibility and great people to work with. Not a huge company with a future but it is a great place to build a resume. I would recommend them if you like to have a work life balance

A feeling of belonging and purpose for the company and myself.
With the construction in my background, I could blend into any department and stock, assist employees and customers alike, and finish any task. I enjoyed the conversing with the customers and developed a sense of brand loyalty
ProsPhysical activity, daily challenges, team orientated

Horrible place to work.
If you want to have a home life. This is not the job for you. You are not paid hourly, you are paid based on services you provide. You will be belittled daily, no support from supervisor. If you like a micromanager and not knowing what to do on a daily basis, then this is the job for you. You will work 50-60 hours weeks, evenings and weekends as well. While your superiors work 9-5 and no weekends. I would not recommend this job.
ProsNone
ConsPay Work life high case loads poor management

Do not recommend
I have worked for this company for a year and have not been given full-time status despite the fact that I work 50 plus hours a week. The pay is good if you are willing to put in the hours, but there is little to no chance for advancement within the company.
ProsYou make your own schedule
ConsLong hours, drama

productive and satifying work
do to the nature of the job working with families involved in CPS the job could be stressful but the work enviroment was usually good. The pay rate was less than other ASO/behavioral health agencies and little chance of advancement in the agency.
Prosmade own schedule
Conspay was less than other agencies and little chance of advancement in the agency

I enjoy working with the other person and being able to put smiles on the babies faces..challanging but rewarding
Very busy with small children. I love them but it is not the career that I am looking for long time. I work well with my co worker and being able to rely on each other and know what needs to be done without each other asking makes the work environment good.
ProsWorking at home
ConsNo benifits

Part time employee
This is ok for a first job starting off. There is a lot of top down management and managers have to deal with high pressure from corporate office that gets pushed onto employees
ProsGood starting pay for posiiton

Feels like a family
I worked at Homebase in Wrexham for 4 and a bit years.
I suppose it depends on who you ask and what their job was but my experience is from Showrooms, Store Support and Delivery Driving.
Although minimum wage, this was the happiest I'd ever been in a job.
No matter what branch you go in to, Homebase feels like a family and the management were always supportive and afforded me opportunities to grow.
Unfortunately, the conditions affecting retail these days meant that I can't give Homebase full marks on job security, but despite aspiring to earning a higher wage/ salary - if my branch was still open, I'd most likely still be working there.
I'd highly recommend this retailer to anyone, particularly youngsters looking for a door into working life. If you're willing to put the effort in, Homebase will support your development.

A Good start
Helped with getting some work experience. They have fully trained me in customer service.
Management are fantastic, will do anything to please customers. They are also very activity on shop floor and helping with day to day customers.
Customer service team are strong and very friendly. Generally a good working environment to work in.
It’s a nice job, good to start off for school leavers and for people that want to take part retirement. However full time jobs are rare.
ProsGood working conditions, good staff and management
ConsNo opportunity for fulltime employment
