That they do not care about you.
Management didn't care. Dosnt care and will not care in the future about the employees. Go work for someone who does. I can't say enough bad things about this company to discourage people from working there
ProsNo free anything, worth a hoot
ConsWorking there.

Great Place to Work
I have enjoyed working at Hollywood Casino! I have excellent managers and supervisors. I have learned many new jobs that will help me in the future from payroll systems to scheduling. The hardest part of my job are the hours and days that I work, I am not able to see my family. The most enjoyable part is being able to help the staff with their problems and needs and get them to where they want to be in their career.
ProsEmployee cafe with discounted food for lunch/dinner
ConsThe evening hours I work and limited weekends off.

Security Job with lots of excitement
Great place for those in the criminal justice field; however, the job security is not very good.

Hollywood Casino
Through my several positions at Hollywood I felt a constant sense volatility due to many factors. The lack of growth and job security ultimately forces my hand to leave the company

Challenging and interactive environment
No day is alike at Hollywood Casino. Major multi-tasking constantly while always providing excellent customer service. I was able to learn a lot in my time with Hollywood and I don't regret my time there.

Love the people I work with.
I enjoyed all the people I worked with. We all worked together as a great team. A typical day at work is spent supervising the staff and educating them about the current promotions, which are on-going at the casino. I also do the scheduling and beverage ordering and inventory. The hardest part of the job is learning the Union contract. Everything is not necessarily in the contract when it comes down to specific details. Therefore, I am continually learning more and more every day. The most enjoyable part of the job are the people I work with.

Hollywood
It is a fun environment. The people are great, but the way the place is ran is... poor. It is a good job, but you feel like you are just an employee and easily replaceable.

High turnover, no job security
Scheduling for 7 days a week 3 shifts with 6 people to cover. The buildings close to 500,000 square feet. The average day there are 2 to 10 thousand people a day. We maintain a 450,000,000 dollar building with 112 acres, 7 ponds, and close to 1 million sq. feet of garage. Six maintenance people with 1 to 2 people per shift is just not safe.
Prosfree drinks and cheap lunchs
Consno holidays or holiday pay, lack of personnel to cover shifts.

Exciting, fast paced, friendly Workplace.
Amazing Place to work, great people. Friendly atmosphere that helped me to cultivate and grow into a better, wiser person. I started there almost 5 years ago and after so many years I learned a great deal and am extremely grateful for the time I spent there.

It can be lengthy, but you literally meet so many of the leadership team on property that it is well worth the investment. The idea is that you are interviewing them as well, so it's great you have that kind of exposure before you even decide if you want to move forward. I think it's great.

What questions did they ask during your interview at Hollywood Casino?
Asked Jun 29, 2016
The management is so dull, their questions are mere trope and regardless of how well you "knock it out of the park," they will not hire you unless they think you're a Low T beta, willing to take the abuse they dish out. When they say "frequently stands and walks" - they mean constantly. Don't even think about asking for a chair.
Answered Jun 25, 2021
Questions designed to see if I was a team player, willing to work hard to advance, what days and hours I could work. There's a lot of questioning around understanding who a person is, which is likely used to make a decision on how well I'd fit with the team I was applying for.
