Fun work atmosphere
Plenty of room for growth if you put your mind to it. The more flexible you are the more flexible they are willing to bend at times. Excellent compensation package in addition to excellent competitive pay scale. Not to mention tips are great if your a great stylist with an amazing attitude.

Great Clips
I like Great Clips people who work there, but the job is too demanding. You are on your feet all day with no breaks, It is a high stress job and is not worth the little money you make. A lot of the clients are rude and act like they are getting an $80.00 haircut when they bring in a coupon for a 5.99 haircut! Ridiculous.

Horrible pay and the flexible hours are a sham, also the clientele will literally ask you to cut their hair a certain way, change the haircut to something else after you have already started cutting, only to get a free DISCOUNTED haircut at the end, and have the audacity to call in the next morning to say you need training. Also there is ZERO training, they want you on the floor asap. Hours are at random, you either come in at open, noon, or somewhere in between. No creativity here whatsoever, haircuts are rushed and clients will never be satisfied. Management only looks at numbers, if you are considering working here DO NOT. Consider assisting.

Poor business model and employee model. Also it's just on paper that they follow guidelines. They really don't ensure it. Everything Looks good on paper but I don't know how they always seem to slip through the cracks.

50&80 and if your lucky to get people in to work you can eat. Also, they'll send an approved schedule to their headquarter office and then send those stylists to other stores leaving the ones there to pick up the slack. Most without a break. I suggest work PT, the scale on commission over a week worth of work on full time is set up to take away about half of your efforts on up selling. Don't do it. Care about your career more.

Getting ripped off financially. If you're cutting 80-100 haircuts a week and you barely get $300 there's a problem! Equation dont add up and not fair They promote to many inexperienced managers as a quick fix for a location. Many unprofessional stylists with alot of personal issues going on are hired out of despiration.

Indeed was my 1st application with great clips. I was scooped up quickly for a shop that had the store manager on maternity leave durring a 5.99 haircut sale. All was good till she returned. lol then I got as ll weekends nites and weekends. After 20 years I deserve a fair work schedule.

They said they were and to come in and feel out an application, which I did and they interviewed me right there and setup technical interview for next day. They asked pertinent information as well as was very welcoming and very informative of what to expect as a great clips employee.

It’s easy come, easy go. No commitment, so if you move a lot it’s nice. You don’t have to try to drum up your own clientele. They’re built in. If you are thinking long term it might not be a wise investment of your time, especially if you value your weekends and don’t want to get carpal tunnel a few years in. But if you want to learn a lot of cuts on a lot of different types of hair, and bring those skills elsewhere, it’s a good fit.

I love to cut hair so that why I like great clips, they don't do any chemical services. I can do more customers and make more money in tips. I use to do color; I have done color correction that can take up to 6 hr
