it needs some work in the human relations side, they do not follow the corporate culture with putting employees first. I wish they would follow accepted standards.
The chemical plant is union so it’s good in that aspect. Management is a joke only care about production over safety. You start at $19.00 dollars an hour have to wait 3 years before you get $30.00 an hour. The company relies on the hard workers to carry the slackers weight also not any real process operating going on

Good job. Bad company
Pros:
- Good learning environment
- Good work experience
- Plenty of experienced technicians
- flexible and open schedule
- Great coworkers
- Looks after you in a crisis
Cons:
The management: The management can be a deal breaker for a lot of people. The managers can be good people but lack good abilities to control their emotions. Oftentimes can be very inconsiderate of the people in lower positions. I once dealt with a perfectionist who looked for the best in every single detail. It sounds like a good trait, but it is detrimental to the person in any position under them as you have to be perfect in every aspect. You will be expected to be absolutely perfect in the smallest of things which in turns becomes aggravating. As a technician, it’s reasonable to keep your area clean. As a technician, it is reasonable to do acceptable tasks such as offering help to other technicians when it’s slow. It is also reasonable to keep the shop relatively clean, however, this responsibility should not be directed to mainly you solely. You took this job expecting to be an automotive technician; you expected your job to be working on cars. I have scrubbed walls, cleaned toilets, and have done various extremely daunting tasks just to fill time and “look busy”. It isn't terrible until it becomes a common occurance where you’re doing this more than once a week, or after you just did knee crunching labor. You’ll be doing this multiple hours during the day all just

hard physical job a lot of repetative motion. Mostly good people.
Very hard work until you can bid to another job, 1st job usually one of the harder jobs in the plant. They work a mini vacation schedule, 12hr rotating shifts. The plant now operates to budget, and training does not have a budget, so training could be a lot better. You spend more time with your co-workers than you do with your family. On days/nights you work don't plan on doing anything else. If you do go to work there make sure you get plenty of rest, trying to work 12hrs around industrial equipment without proper rest is an accident waiting to happen.

Good Company
You are sure to be challenged in this company. Typical work schedule does not allow weekend time off. The positive side at Goodyear is the excellent pay and benefits. If you have the degrees behind your name I believe your potential is endless. If you do not have the degree, then Goodyear offers you the opportunity to take extra courses to improve your situation.

Enjoyed teaching, coaching and training my associates for career advancement
Goodyear gave me an excellent opportunity to grow my career. I was able to teach, coach & train employees to become professional's in the industry. I liked creating a competitive atmosphere for my locations. I was able to manage a 58-60 million dollar business as a regional manager as well as learning & teaching operations excellence. Managing 400 employees over 5 states helped me understand the different markets which in turn allowed me to be agile in my decisions. This also gave the opportunity to build my bench strength from within the organization. I was able to identify raw talent or gave my associates the hope of building & creating course of actions for their future goals. My SOP was to review expenses, gross profits, sales, customer service issues and P&L projections Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, Annually. I truly believe in customer service & I believe that a positive outcome in the customer's eyes leads to loyalty of our product/brand.

How would you describe the pace of work at Goodyear?
Asked Apr 25, 2017
Wotk can be fast paced as a tire builder, but there is a lot of stop and go because of the old machinery breaking down and bad stock coming from the other departments beore you in the line of prodction...it's like trying to get a 1977 Ford Ranchero to make a twelve hour trip without having any problems, but the car's better days are gone, parts are limited, and you keep getting bad gas.
