Good pay and benefits. Management was ok. Some were really cool, others stab you in the back so they get their "golden tickets". Plant closed in December 2015. Nothing in the building since except a patio furniture place.
Strong ethical culture, driven people, care and compassion for each other
It is the deep Midwest though so get used to white, Cis gendered, hetero norms
An incredible pool of talent. Highly recommend this employer. A high growth potential, with superior brands. Minneapolis metro area is a fantastic area to live that allows you to enjoy all 4 seasons
Good company, brands and people. General Mills is a leader in the CPG Industry and a Marketing Powerhouse. Plan to work hard, but get rewarded for your work and get to have some fun along the way.
Worked at General Mills for 7 years. They preach how big they are on safety and how " were one team that works together" I can tell you that's far from true. You have hourly employees on the floor and salary as in management. Management dont like to be told how to do their job. If you raise concerns about safety concerns or improvements it's one ear out the other. If you push the agenda to try and make it to what they preach about daily on safety and keep mentioning those concerns they will look for ways to get you out the door. You have team leads and leads out there whom team leads are part of the salary family and instead of them leading by example and being out on the floor they are in their office 90% of the time, at least on 2nd shift and nights. Yet will be first to criticize you on your job performance when they have not a clue what is even going on or how hard alot of the jobs are since they decided to eliminate some adding more tasks to jobs in the areas. Leads job title is considered working leads as in they help out if needed but that never happens. They rather do nothing even if it means someone having to do extra work. Hourly has been working 13 days on and 1 day off for the last 2 years while management gets guaranteed weekends regardless. I've been gone from that place for 3 months now and my family has noticed I'm more happier then when I was working there. Since my departure 3 months ago they have fired 4 people and 2 quit just in the department I was in. Th
ProsGood pay, benefits and 4 weeks of vacation
ConsPoor management, forced every weekend, sanitation, humidity, turn around ratio and fast paced/rushing

Good place to work
I enjoying working at General Mills. The Culture is great, and the employees are very welcoming. The campus is very large. Parking is easy and covered.
A power house of immense talent. An organization that truly cares about their people, and works for people around the world always with transparency and integrity. Brand management forerunner with opportunities to progressively develop your career.
General Mills is a great company, full of talented and dedicated employees focused on making food that people love. General Mills offers a great deal of flexibility.
I don't work there anymore but it was a good place to work. Not much room for advancement, but I knew what the position was when I accepted the offer of employment and was happy with the hours and compensation. If you like driving forklifts or order picking then this is the place for you. It's located right outside of fort Wayne passed airport expressway.
I worked there as a temp from staffing agencie , never had opportunity to become permanent as General Mills does not hire there temps as I was led to believe by the staffing agencie.
I enjoyed the fact that I was able to try different things.
It is fast paced with managers who are willing to help with character development if that is what you wish. If all you are looking for is a job the workplace balance is awesome. The culture there is great with a large emphasis on teamwork. Great benefits as well. Room for advancement as well.
Foi quase oito anos de muita satisfação. Trabalhava de seg a sex no segundo turno, era uma equipe muito boa e dedicada.

What is the most stressful part about working at General Mills?
Asked Sep 21, 2016
Watching people drink the kool aid they sell you. For the deep seeded personalities the transformation of the weaker characters is amazing to watch. The extent that people go through to just be accepted there is awe inspiring to say the least.

Horrible cult like culture! Lot's of discrimination especially for temporary employees and women. If you like being treated like a piece of feces, and constantly lied to by management. This is the place for!
