Overall Reviews at Fred Meyer

Good for what it is
When I started at Fred Meyer in 2005 it was a truly great place for a me to work. They understood and were flexible with my schedule as a mom wanting a job that allowed my husband or I to be home with our kids when the other parent worked. The pay was above minimum wage and the compensation and benefits were very generous.

An industry going down hill
When I started in retail 16 years ago you could have a mortgage, stay at home spouce and child. Now it is difficult to support a single individual on the journeyman pay that a grocery clerk makes, Wages rarely keep up with inflation much less cost of living, Medical benefits are too expensive to use and they obviously don't pay supervisors enough because everyone seems so Jaded all the tine
Prosno requirements
ConsSlow wage growth, nobody cares about moral

Good for a temporary job. Don't stay here too long. Follow your dreams
I was employed at Fred Meyer for nearly 2 years and held 3 different positions. I learned a lot there but it is best to not be there for too long. As long as you leave on good terms you are eligible for rehire there. Follow your dreams if you can. Fred Meyer can suck the life out of you.
Pros1 hour lunches, holiday pay, discount on groceries. They (generally) promote from within
Cons10 minute breaks instead of 15

Very active and fun place to work. Great associates and customers.
At Fred Meyer I learned a few new skills. Was able to be helpful in five different positions on the Front End to help customers to have the best experience. The team members there are amazing and makes it a great place to work.

Terrible Management
This company cares about no one, only sales. The best part about FM was the insurance. If you only need insurance and not to into making money or being happy work for FM.

It is a good place to work if you're a hard worker
People think Fred Meyer is easy work but its time-consuming, high-paced, stressful, and demanding all at once. Hard work is necessary but worth it due to pay and benefits.

Amazing coworkers and supervisors
Coworkers and supervisor was very helpful, understanding, and a whole lot of fun. Some customers are difficult, but most are very kind. My supervisor was very understanding when it would come to taking a few days off from work for family occasions.

Fredmeyer
A typical day at work would include loading and unloading pallets, and stocking shelves. After 7am i would handle any customers needs. Fred Meyer was a great environment to work in. My co-workers were great people to work with. The most enjoyable part of the job was to set up isles and decorate shelves.
Prosemployee discount.great coworkers
ConsUnion based, no opportunity for advancement, poor management
