Terrific environment. Hard work in shipping receiving and in upstairs text department but very good atmosphere. Rush seasons (4) were physically tough. Textbook processing,, sales floor coordination critical with over 2600 titles.

First job
Follett allowed me to have my first job experience. It was nice being able to work there as they are very flexible with your schedule, especially if you’re taking classes. I was able to build great friendships within the company and it allowed me to build up my skills.

Fun workplace
I really enjoyed working at the university bookstore. The hours and pay were good and it was a stimulating environment to work in! My coworkers were nice and helpful.

Lack of training
They rush through training for seasonal employees presumably because they don't expect you to be there long. No possibility of moving up. No enthusiasm.
ProsGood hourly pay, flexible with scheduling
ConsEveryone seemed lost

fun place
It was a great place to work except management wasn't really too involved with the employees. Other co workers were amazing and it made for a fun and productive atmosphere

Average, But Not Bad
Like many customer service establishments, the store that I served at lacked enough chairs for people who had to stand for multiple hours. This is as unhealthy as it would be for an office worker who has to sit for multiple hours. Other than that, however, I was always given concise information on my duties and responsibilities for each shift and given positive reinforcement for a job well done, which was in the form of compliments. Employee safety is valued here, as extra measures were taken to protect said employees from exposure to COVID-19. This included regular disinfecting of counters, masks required of everyone, and access to disposable gloves.
ProsAccepting of people of differing ethnicities, backgrounds, and genders/sexualities
ConsLack of seats for employees in the work area

Great place to work?
Some of the employees can be petty and act like chiefs when they're really Indians, but overall Follett is a great place to work, with good management and flexibility. Worked as a temporary associate
