Broken Culture
Management at Epic is promoted from within and they often lack adequate training to become effective managers of their employees. Managers often try to please the managers above them at the expense of those below them. Epic also fights to diminish employees' workplace rights so they can get away with misclassifying and underpaying their employees.

Fast paced high expectations with rewarding and challenging work.
Your day to day is highly dependent upon your specific role. As a TS I found that there were ample opportunities to challenge myself internally and in customer work. There is always room to grow upward and take on more responsibility.

Great place
Loved working there ,poor money management and job bidding causing me to be laid off. But it was a great place to work. Would go back if given the opportunity

It's Alright. Terrible advancement opportunities.
If you get a job like QA, prepare to be stuck there forever. Good pay, bad everything else. Overall, gets impressionable young people to work more than they should and holds the threat of unemployment over people's heads. Also a very uninventive company.

Different roles get different experiences
The job is fine but it might also depend on where you land within the company. They generally make developers into managers which doesn't always work but I was lucky to have good ones. Devs can get a little more leeway with work but the hours can get pretty long and you should expect some crunch time to happen.
ProsCafeterias, healthcare package
ConsYou'll probably get pretty bored, you might not work on the tech you'd like

Good company but motly temp jobs
Good company but mostly temp jobs. Job is ended at anytime without warning and you have no idea that it is coming. No warning so you will prepare yourself.

Good for smart STEM graduates with few marketable skills, not good for much else.
Co-workers are kind and intelligent, but the actual work in technical services is boring and stressful, not to mention the lack of flexibility in working from home due to larger investments in making the campus look like Disneyland. The company itself is good, but working in IT support (which is what technical services is, essentially) is basically for graduates with few marketable skills at graduation. There are definitely smart TS who like the work and have been there a long time, but it’s not for me.

What is the most stressful part about working at Epic Systems?
Asked May 7, 2018
In the implementation role, you are given a lot of responsibility at an early time, which is exciting and challenging at first, but if you do well you only are rewarded with more difficult work and less support. The compensation is very competitive, but most folks in implementation find that the money is not worth the stress after 3-5 years in the role.

No stress.

What does a technical problem solver do?
Asked Jun 2, 2017
Take follow-ups from Hospital IT teams and ask those follow-ups to people who actually know what they're doing. Understanding the software comes with time. About 2 years. Good luck. Training is just a start.
Answered Aug 11, 2018
Provide support to your customers via email, phone call, regular meetings, etc. to ensure their hospital is running at its finest and improving going forward. Can be bug fixing, installing new services, providing feedback to devs, optimizing old systems, or in general helping to the customers do what they need to be able to do.

Asked Oct 30, 2016
They usually reach out to folks first, then phone interview (talk to an employee there and ask any questions you have), then some online assessments, then bring you on-site for an in-person interview, and finally an offer if they like you.
Answered Feb 3, 2020
They tested me - personality and aptitude tests.
