Overall Reviews at Easter Seals

Not enough work
I was rarely called for clients even though I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and the company always claimed they didn’t have enough clients. I love with children and I don’t think this company is used to it’s full potential. I also have a son with autism and I understand the importance of having people who want to take time and have patience with children with this type of disability.
ProsFlexible Times/ works around your schedule
ConsNot enough pay or work

Very nice environment and coworkers to work with, but the pay is very low as compared to the behaviors we face from the clients. They have good benefits, but again low pay.

There's always work to do
When people mess up I was one of them it doesn't mean management doesn't have to get up in your face and chew your butt out which they did that is why I left permanently

Great staff, not a whole lot of stability
I worked a little over two years for Easterseals and I went from PT to FT, got promoted/demoted due to budget cuts, got re-promoted (higher ranking staff quit) and then my department was cut entirely and I had to go to my old position until I decided to leave the company.
From the time I was with them, I bent over backwards with everything they asked of me. I went through three different bosses (one quit, another one was let go and the last one was still there when I left), but my supervisors were always very nice and supportive.
They changed the pay structure significantly when I was an Employment Specialist and you couldn’t really control what was happening around you (like a client randomly deciding to end their services) and it ended up reducing my paycheck by almost $300-$400 a month.
The driving policies weren’t fair either, especially for those who HAD to travel long distances just to get hours that had been previously cut. I still helped them out when no one else would.
ProsFriendly, supportive staff
ConsUnstable non-profit (from my experiences), lackluster mileage reimbursement program

Good place to work
I enjoyed working at Easterseals. It is a great organization to work for. I worked in the preschool department. There is great team work among the teachers and therapist, good leadership from the preschool director. Parents are happy with the decision that they made to enroll their children there. Great therapy services and preschool services. My overall ranking for Easterseals is a five star rating.
