Poor management, lack of accountability, flawed system, long hours of mandatory overtime.
Fix the pop system because its flawed, stresses out employees and allows for case pickers to cheat by fake staging of pallets and reactivating them. Which gives them points for work their not actually getting done productively and extra time to stand on their lift socializing. When case pick isn't done others have to do their job while making 2 dollars an hour less than the pickers who are making more yet causing the back log of work and hours, it's normal to work 6 days a week 12 hours a day. If you complain cause you have a family they tell you how the Lebanon, Tennessee location works 7 days a week 12 hrs a day. This fake staging also causes mistakes as to the staging of those pallets. Pallets are staged to dock doors but aren't necessarily their causing you to search the warehouse (layer pick, other dock doors, case pickers forklifts and/or buried in between staged rows up to 4 pallets high to find it. Other people's mistakes will affect your points and then your bonuses and if you let it your job. Management is aware and doesn't care because the production numbers affect their bonuses (ie more cheating)= better numbers, higher management bonuses. For loaders Ltl lanes are the worst you'll have to label specific pallets with specific labels buried in the rows and completely break down others to label each package for the customer. However the system doesn't give you enough time for this. This should be a function performed by quality assurance employee not a production b
ProsGood pay, growing logistics 3pl.
ConsWork life balance, poor management, lack of accountability, unsafe working conditions, long hours up to 72 hours a week, mandatory ot, unreliable forklifts and scanners, unsafe working conditions at times.

Unbelievably incompetent management
Worst place I have ever worked. Incompetent doesnt even begun to describe management/trainers. Good thing I already knew the WMS system from previous employers, and trained myself. Nobody without at least 5-10 years in warehousing will do well in this environment. I wound up training new hires so they had a chance to make it. 1st manager was escorted out of the facility due to mismanagement and it only got worse from him on. Next manager made 1st seem competent in comparison. Favoritism is off the chain. Even from HR. They illegally disclose info gotten from personal/confidential conversations, with friends they have in management. Then the manager uses that info against the employee. One favorite they had, literally ripped a pole out of the concrete floor by backing onto it, and he was promoted within weeks, while someone else took an emergency phone call in the breakroom and was fired for "stealing" as they looked at using time on the clock for personal reasons "stealing money from the company" yet others spend half their time in the breakroom WITH MANAGERS and it's ok. Ypu can wait HOURS for trucks to be put in doors because the shipping office is horribly incompetent and so are the drivers/yard jockeys. One was caught sleeping in the jockey truck while guys were waiting for their trucks to be put in doors, and nothing happened to him. I've seen some companies poorly run before, but never anything like this. Morale couldn't be worse. 12 hour shifts for months for no reas

Productive yet frustrating
DSC is a decent company to work for. They have all these ways to advance in the company but to quote a wise man, "it's sometimes best to shake hands and kiss babies" A typical day would begin with a shift meeting like any other warehouse and then the fun starts. The work isn't hard but it seems like every week there are hurdles created to block whatever success and or goals you planned to achieve that day. The supervisors aren't so bad. I honestly think a lot of the negative associated with DSC is corporate's fault. That's not to say that the supervision isn't completely absolved of such but the longer you work here, the more you empathize with them. We get paid lunches which is always a bonus but if you're working an 8 hour shift expect that's all you'll get. If you're on a 10 hour shift, you get one 10 minute break and a 30 minute lunch. The turnover is extremely extremely high. Some of it is definitely on the associate's heads but there are plenty of instances where management was awful. Right now we're on red prairie wms and to say it's the worst would be an understatement so there's that. The company has a program where you can travel to other facilities on the company's dime (hotel, airfare, rental, etc) but make no mistake about it, you will work. In a lot of cases 12 hours a day 6 days a week. But you get a 220$ a week siphon for odds and ends on top of a 2 dollar pay increase while you're where ever you may be. Just like every other warehouse you have
ProsPaid Lunches, Scouting Opprotunities, steady pay increases

Out of Control
● Work-life balance The hours are not bad at all. They have a lot of VTO ( Voluntary Time Off) for the first shift. VTO only pays you for the hours you worked that day. If you decide not to VTO there may be other work for you like cleaning up spilled products in the bays or cleaning up the warehouse assisting maintenance or assisting other forklift operators putting away product. ● Job security and advancement There is no growth and it's based off who they like as opposed to job performance and skills. ● Management Management only cares about numbers and consistently threatens employees that they may be fired. Overlooking the fact that faulty equipment and unorganized planning is more so the reason things are the way they are. ● Culture People here are very unprofessional. Talk to you rude and any kind of way without being reprimanded. ● Overall There is a lot of changes that need to be made at DSC starting with management. The entire warehouse is unorganized and extremely dirty. Employees are not held accountable for the errors especially those who deliberately do so. Management knows who's behind this and choose not to reprimand those individuals which continues to be one of the reasons you get behind in your work. Every morning it's very difficult to get a decent operating forklift. Computers do not work efficiently, keyboards are missing and rf scanners do not work most of the time which also puts you behind in your work. It's a horrible way to start off your day. In

This is an Honest Review on DSC
They lie to you through out your training the timer that your time on is not right because when your doing bad your numbers are positive when your doing great your numbers are negative when you ask other employees how to get positive numbers they will tell you that you have to cheat in indirect in order to be positive on holidays whole shifts will not show up to work like easter only 2 people from second shift showed up to work causing a ton of work to be put on third shift this also cause them to work many 10hrs shifts the numbers on who is positive from who is negative are manipulated by leads with the hand held. Aside from all this i was told by some one in the office that the turn over ratio in two years was 400 employees either walking off the job or being fired totaled these are all factual things i have seen working their people have left this company making 16 to go back to a job making 12 to 13 a hr because of these problems so i would not suggest working here if you are looking for a steady job thats not gonna fire you based off a bogus number system you have 4 pts after taken off or missing work for 4 pts they will fire you if your mom is sick or dying you will be pointed if you take off to see her or be around her if your child is sick you will be pointed for taken off to take them to the doctor they dont care about your family at all they just want you to work and i can provide text messages from my boss to prove this this is not a company i would recommended f

They do not listen to the employees that work with the products.
Started as a Lead man then I stepped down to lift driver after being told numerous times that I could not do the task they put me on. Was told by Dsc that I do not know how to load a truck. I loaded trucks at every company I worked for. I many have had 5-6 trucks return for over weight in all the years I have been doing loads. I worked with Kraft products at most of the companies. They need to take into consideration the views of the employees that have worked with the products and set ups for numerous years. It has been an established way from Kraft of doing the task with their products. I loaded trucks at every company I worked for even while in High School. I want to work for a company that appreciates their people. Most of the lift driver do not like the way management works there. Management treats the employees like they are beneath them. Hardest part of the job is dealing with the management. I have never had any problems working with management before at any place I worked. I have high respect for management, but not when employees are treated bad. One example was my daughter was going into the hospital for a personal emergency procedure. I was told by management to leave and go to my daughter. When I got back the next day, was told I was given a point because it was not an approved absent. Only allowed so many points and then fired. No matter how well you work.
Prosa lot of over time available
ConsMany are mandatory. No exceptions.

This place is a joke!
Here's a good story Your allowed 6 points before termination. *you ask for vacation time for Tuesday after memorial day. *They denied vacation because of a policy update. *You have 4 points on friday. *you check your points on memorial day to double check. And it says 4 points used. I have 2 points available. If I call out Tuesday it would make 5 points. *you call off Tuesday. *HR calls that Tuesday to tell you you've been terminated for being at 8 points??? *why am i on 8 points Tuesday but I checked Monday night I was at 4? (ANSWER) HR- Well it was because no one was here to update the system on that payroll week, because of memorial day. It ultimately had to do with "someones" negligence. But unfortunately we cant do anything about it because its already inputted in the system. Ok?!? Can I atleast claim unemployment. HR- Yes you can we only deny unemployment if it involves gross misconduct. (Applied for edd.) Edd response: Unfortunately edd has denied your unemployment because you are uneligible by DSC for personal attendance related work issue.(My Fault) WHAT KIND OF SHADY COMPANY DOES THIS TO THEIR EMPLOYEES! My BEST advice! DO NOT APPLY, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! I REPEAT DO NOT APPLY!!! Apparently they do this all the time to their associates. The reason they post so many job positions available is because they always let someone go! ***Always hiring Because their Always Firing!***
ProsThere really is none. Occasion free lunch

Dangerous
DSC came in because they were losing the Kraft account when we were doing fine without them. They changed everything. We lost our 15min breaks, our weekly paycheck, our friends who they felt didn't live up to "DSC standards" The place got worse over time. They started bringing in former Kraft employees who lost their jobs and phased out the people who had been working there a long time. On any given day you didn't know what you were doing, Favoritism was always given to the former DSC employees. As they stuffed more and more product into the warehouse a whole mirage of problems occurred. Space requirements, damage, nowhere to go with the product, miscommunication. A fork lift operator was almost killed due to miscommunication in the office, truck driver pulled the trailer while someone was unloading it. Safety violations that went unheard, nothing was ever done to change it. As they phased out the older employees the dangerous new people came in who know very little to save a buck making the place a real nightmare. The computer system is outdated and the blame was always shifted to the employees in all errors and problems. The management are bullies, you never knew if the day would be your last. Intimidation tactics were the norm. Then the pay and benefits got worse as time went on.
ProsFree DSC clothing line
ConsUnsafe working conditions, Lousy Pay, Horrible benefits, Bad mangement

No concern for their employees.
● Work-life balance It doesn't exist, they'll force you to work your holidays away like they're not already forcing ridiculous amounts of overtime hours. ● Pay & benefits The pay is decent, but benefits and pay don't equal the stress and just overall unsafe environment this company provides. ● Management Employees are treated very poorly. Performance standards are set my upper management who has no idea how to even do the job, and would never be able to meet the standards themselves. Safety is a MAJOR issue, people are stacked on top of each other in dock spaces with no concern for their safety. Training is absolutely appalling. There's no real concern for the job being done properly or new employees having full knowledge of what they're supposed to be doing. ● Culture Employee moral is very low. ● Overall Upper management has no concern for the safety or well being of their employees. They have no concern for anyone having time for their families and forced 12 hours of overtime all the way thru the Covid shutdown and beyond that, no hazard pay, no extra pay for essential employees; just a small "incentive bonus" for overtime hours worked. They put new people on lifts that have no idea how to properly operate them. Their bottom line is having as many people as they can on the floor with no concern for safety or proper training. And absolutely no accountability.

Terrible atmosphere-low morale
The first time I started working for this company, everything seem sweet! After working there for a couple of months, noticed that management knew very little next to nothing. Upper management lied repeatedly to their employees about the future of DSC and what to expect. Regional managers played a major part in the downfall of this company. They lied about the placement of the timeclocks...stating that all location's clocks are located in the back of the building (which was a lie). Favoritism was at an all time high at this location. The building was very dirty, lunchrooms nasty, bathrooms were disgusting, and they never could keep a janitor because they are always firing them. Let's not talk about the turnover rate-out of this world. Too many employees had access to other employee's personal information. They have hired over 5 HR manager's within the last 6 years. When it comes to promotions, they already set in place who they are going to hire before letting others have a chance at interviewing for the position. On top of that, they lot go of people that actually wanted and loved to work for the company but because they weren't brown-nosing,they were fired. Majority of the people that work there are on FMLA...says a lot about the company.
Prosnone
Consshort breaks, terrible upper-management, lack of respect, dirty

Is there paid vacation ?
Asked Apr 15, 2016
Yes. 2 weeks. 1 week of sick - paid and 2 personal/floating
Answered May 30, 2019
They changed the vacation so you have 16 hours of UNPAID vacation, and the balance is supposed to be 64 hours of regular vacation. Your 2 weeks is split during the year. You cant take your 2nd week until after July. Everything is managed and accessed thru a system called ultipro. Including attendance points. Everything is accessed thru that. Ultipro glitches like crazy. count on management to take advantage of every glitch they can for their own good.
