Great start for newcomers and people looking for their first job!
I've been working with the company for 2+ years now.
Typical day at work:
As a Cashier:
Line ups run for days.... this sounds terrible but let me tell you that it makes time go by quick!! You meet different kinds of people (good, bad and ugly personalities) I currently work in the downtown core so I definitely get all three! Patience is definitely a must for this particular job.
As a Merchandiser:
FILL! FILL! FILL! Is all I ever hear from my co workers! They want the store completely filled! Back up on cash when needed. Working in such a busy location you have to constantly fill certain areas (popular items etc.)
Management:
Learned to deal with THEM as much as possible. The beginning was all peachy keen until you see their true colours. Let's just say the newer Managers being trained currently have a chance in the long run whereas the current Management gotta step it up.
ProsHours. If you're good honestly, they'll give you more hours than the Full Timers.
ConsCustomers. You look at them a certain way they freak!

Terrible company
Terrible company that couldn't care less about their employees.
There are no polices to protect the staff, they are belittled and abused by customers on a daily basis.

Productive and fun workplace
Very busy work environment with high volume of customers. Organized management and hard working staff put the needs of their customer first and serve them with quality service.

Stay away from this company
Unless you only want to be a number in the system and enjoy being treated like you are lower than low by the Management and others whom think they are Management, do not work for this company.

Productive and fun work place
A typical day at work is like doing the same thing that you are doing but the only difference is how you can handle all the things that you can encounter on that day. Everyday different kinds of people are coming to buy or visit the store. The most enjoyable part of the job is if you serve the customer and they are returning the favour with just a simple thank you is worthy enough for me. And working with the persons who knows what to do it makes job easier. That's the biggest factor for me to accomplished or should i say can make the work faster and easier. At the end of the day by the guidance of the management and co workers I can say that I survived a day with the help I needed because of their support and guidance.

Unrealistic expectations, but Great employees
The employees I work with, for the most part are amazing. They are probably the only good thing about this job and why it's so hard to quit. Higher management expects to much. Lots of work to do in a extremely short amount of time. Lots of people come in for the purpose of stealing... they have zero routine and schedule is constantly changing

Faced paced
This job was faced paced around christmas time. You always had to make sure the store was organized. It was a pretty relaxed job and required clealiness at all times.
