Very fun place to work
Had a great experience working for this company. Fun place, very productive and rewarding to my professional life. I learned how to deal with customers enquiries, solve problems and motivate the team.

Flexible work with lackluster pay and no company culture
Working as a courier for Deliveroo has its perks, such as flexibility in picking your hours. However, the pay is variable and usually not that profitable and there is no interaction with other people, which may be a plus or a minus depending on your preference.

Deliveroo is a good student job because of the flexibility it allows. It is however a very tiring, high risk/low reward and very unsecure job.
I'm working for deliveroo since the summer of 2018, the job has it's ups and downs but I mostly sticked to doing it for the flexibility as I'm a student, the pay is not very good and adding up all the taxes it can sometimes be terrible, there is no job security, no paid leave, nothing. The management doesn't really care about the riders as they are just working horses that deliver the food from the paying restaurants to the paying customers.
ProsFree equipment, flexible working hours, very easy to relocate with the job as it is present in all big cities.
ConsBad wage, very little help, no job security.

Poor pay, poor management. Not many orders everyday, drivers sitting around. Unreasonable threats of sacking. No job security. No sick pay, no holiday pay

Great commission, poor management and culture
Deliveroo is a fantastic company for its consumers; it delivers their favourite dishes to their door within a few minutes, the app is easy to use and the choice of restaurants, takeaways and off-licences is huge. From the outside, Deliveroo is a successful business and a place where anybody would want to work. The salary and commission is amazing when working there. However, the infrastructure and culture of the sales dept isn't anything like what it set out to be. Understandably, most start ups don't have things down to a T in their first few years. But culture and management is something that can most definitely be mastered while building a businesses foundations. When starting a position at Deliveroo, you're told about how important "fun", "food" and "freedom" is to the company and to your role. Management is anything but "fun". Nobody in the team dares to question the manager when prompted to do so, in case they appear to be 'patronising' or 'rude' - when really they're almost bullied into being silenced. Employees are given a seating plan. If you treat people like children, they're likely to act like children. If you treat adults with respect, they will respect you. Everybody knows KPIs and Targets have to be hit - nobody works to get fired or to not maximise on their commissions. So why must a manager scream across a room of adults to ask for how many calls they've made? The company needs to seriously re-evaluate it's ethos and morals within the sal

Working all over the place
Expect to be working through peak traffic and to be given poor directions from the Deliveroo app. Some customers tip, often most don't. You can change what area you work in pretty easily e.g. going from eastern suburbs to inner west of Sydney.

Great work opportunity for students, viable for full-timers
Being a Deliveroo courier is a rewarding job for students, who seek to earn some money while studying. Being a full-time courier can be demanding, but a viable place to work. The income is decent. The work occasionally requires patience, as it is highly demand-sensitive.

Enjoyable environment
I worked at Deliveroo as an Onboarding administrative assistant within the supply operations support team. My role involved responding to applicant queries via phone and email, assisting applicants through the Supply process and making sure applicants were on the road as soon as possible. I most enjoyed the people I met here and the office environment.

Need changes regarding riders safety and benefits
Deliveroo is very good company to work if you are part of the management team or in the back office. It has a very good workplace culture and you can tell people love what they are doing. You can say the same regarding the riders conditions, although they are essential in their business model they are not treated properly, as they don;t receive benefits, or insurance if they have an accident. Also the rates have drop a lot since they started.

Questions And Answers about Deliveroo

What is the interview process like at Deliveroo?
Asked Feb 18, 2020
No process
Answered Sep 26, 2020
There is no interview, you need to have all the documents ready to work as self employed aswell as a bike of course, and when you are accepted (as there are a lot of people applying) they send you the equipment and the app.
Answered Feb 18, 2020
What is the vacation policy like at Deliveroo? How many vacation days do you get per year?
Asked Feb 18, 2020
There is no vacation pay or sick pay
Answered Sep 26, 2020
Zero. You can take your vacation whenever you desire, but it is coming out of your own pocket entirely.
Answered Feb 18, 2020
What is a typical day like for you at Deliveroo?
Asked Jun 21, 2020
Still waiting for my application to approve 😑😑😑
Answered Jun 21, 2020
What tips or advice would you give to someone interviewing at Deliveroo?
Asked Feb 26, 2020
Just be confident that you'll do great, write about your physical attributes and that you are very motivated to get the job and start working.
Answered Feb 26, 2020
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Deliveroo a better place to work?
Asked Feb 26, 2020
Make a branch of riders that work on a regular work contract, this will take away the flexibility, but there are people that really enjoy the job, and giving those people 35h-40h contracted regular work weeks and then job security will really bring up the morale and maybe motivate people to work harder to be eligible for those contracts. I'm sure they already have paid staff not everyone working there is self employed, just no paid riders.
