Dairy Queen
A typical day if you arent in highschool might be 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., or 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., or 7p.m. - 12 a.m.. Even if you are in highschool its the same just arrive at work after school.

Its a fast food place. Theres room for advancement.
Overall not a bad place to work.
I honestly enjoy the hustle and bustle of it all.
You could theoretically rise quickly among the ranks but it's just fast food.
Starting pay at my location is $15.50
If your a general manager or higher you could make more then 60k a year. Decent spot.
ProsDeep discount on food, decent work environment, management is very chill and open minded, flexibe schedule.
ConsCan become very quick paced so if you dont like that it may become overwhelming.

Productive and fun work place
Good learning and social experience, hardworking environment, wonderful co-workers, understanding managers, teamwork, focused, on time and time consuming

Some of the co-workers are really good team players.
It’s okay. Not great, but still a good first job to have.
Short breaks. Sometimes you don’t get them, wages are not the best. And staff tends to have a lot of drama. Place I worked at, owner would write about how everyone was replaceable on the whiteboard for everyone to read. It was a very stressful work environment. Night Management usually would get yelled at if night shift didn’t finish some night chores. Hard on both mental health and moral. But good experience for a first.
ProsSometimes get free icecream.
ConsShort breaks. Sometimes you don’t get them, wages are not the best. And staff tends to have a lot of drama. Place I worked at, owner would write about how everyone was replaceable on the whiteboard for everyone to read.

Very productive and fun place to work with great Managements and co-workers
I was a bit surprised that this store's CEO Manager was in his early 30's and has a outstanding business mind on how to run a successful restaurant. I found him to be a hard worker; as well as fair supervisor. The restaurant is clean. The food is cooked with love and care. Service is great. Overall, this is a great place to work where associates are all team players.

Very moody work environment
not really sure if you are ever doing things worthy of any employer recognition because not only is there NONE but there are too many ways to do things. No set rules that apply to everyone. Lots of favoritism and no consistency.

Fun place to work, happy environment
Worked with fun people that were hard workers for the most part. I learned a lot about customer service skills working there for over four years. My management was very good they taught me all about customer service. Making the cakes and treats.
Proshalf off food. great working place
Conswas not always busy depending on the weather

Fun atmosphere and flexible hours
I have worked in Dairy Queen for a large portion of my life. I set my own hours which is amazing and genuinely enjoy the work I do. My coworkers are mostly young teenagers, but the atmosphere is always friendly and energetic. Not sure I can make this a lifelong career given the limited earning potential though. Overall, I love my job and wish I could make enough to stay there long term.

Good high school job
This job is good for an after school position through high school but not if you are looking for independence and career growth.

Not worth it
I have to say my manager is a good person, he will give you the hours you need and flexible as you need, very smart and understandable at work. But the down part is the job itself is a retail customer severing, you have to face so many cheap and crazy customers.
This is fast food restaurant, but you have to deal with the people want cheap price but 5 star quality.

Fair Bosses Good place to work
Dairy Queen was a very good place to work for a starting out job. It teaches fundamental work skills and team ethic. Hours are good and time of is very well organized. Scheduling methods are some what outdated. Over all a great first job.
