Poor Management That Fires Top Employees
This Co is actually a pretty nice environment that has some Hi-Tech Equipment and somewhat decent work benches but that's where the ticket stops. There are 3 Top managers in this Co. and two are new and one has been there for several years. They only know one thing and it's numbers. When I was hired myself and another highly experienced tech were given leading positions and told we would be trained to perform those positions which would turn out to be a bold face lie. The 1st week the existing Supervisor was fired and my co-worker took over the Supervisor position. Great guy and well liked and qualified however they expected him to know the whole system and do reports that are extremely difficult to do or impossible for a first week employer so after a week they fired him. I was appointed a shift lead role and granted I have 30 years of Electronic Tech Experience they didn't want me to work on units but to oversee the room. They told me I had to train and had to get ISO certified for soldering. They said they would send me to Kansas for training and to get certified. My first week of training my immediate supervisor pulled me off of training and put me on a mission from h--- to solidify 5 carts of lost units to assigned pallets which took me 3 days. The next week they took me off of training to do Diag Code Move because they were getting ordered from Corporate to get units out. My log in for the computer and email didn't work and my supervisor didn't want it to wor

A professional hired to do a job in an extremely unprofessional environment
There is absolutely no chain of command here at this company. Anything below the VP level is crazy and confused. When I was there I had one official boss. Besides him, there were two others who had almost nothing to do with what was going on in my area. These two could order around my boss and his boss also on a whim (which they often did). These two guys had the interpersonal skills of either a small child who was put in charge of an operation without any knowledge, training or real world skills and the other is an IT guy. Neither had the temperament or knowledge to do the jobs they were supposed to be doing, let alone work with actual people on a shop floor. Even though I asked weekly, the entire time I was there I could not get anybody to tell me exactly what my job expectations or responsibilities were. As many times as I asked I couldn't get one for the supervisors that I was in charge of and I knew for a fact my boss couldn't get one for himself either. This lack of listed responsibilities, would I have stayed a full year, would have then affected any sort of annual review process. How are you supposed to be evaluated by your superiors on your work over the last year, reward success and plan for improvement if you have no base line? In the end this wouldn't have mattered much because guess what? There is no annual review process here! In fact when I asked my boss if he was given a 90 day review to tell him how he was doing, he literally laughed at me. As for the work
Proswhen it comes to 3rd party repairs of telecom equipment, communications test design is the only show in town. as a result all of the big players (comcast, verizon, nortell, etc.) all use ctdi to repair their equipment. so as long as ctdi is the only one, they will always have business.

Fustrating place to work.
Managment there is confused. Common sense and logic seem to be in short supply. Lets start with something simple... Parking: In shipping if you work second shift, you will be SOL in finding a parking spot. When I first started that assignment we were allowed to park in the back near our work area with access through the rear door. We would then walk through and put up our lunch, clock in and report to work. They changed that to: If theres no parking spaces up front you can park in the rear but you would have to walk around the entire length of the building and enter the front door. Trust me when I tell you thats one heck of a hike. The decision to do that made no sense at all. Our crew had no desire to boost old cable boxes or the such plus there is a security gate in the back where management is always present. Reason this is such an issue is because everybody on my team had walking issues of such. Not major but enough to make matters laborous and uncomfortable. Managment: the top brass for some reason or another replaced key personel who were either fired or quit with management from another department who had no clue at all of what was required in shipping. For a long while shipping was experiencing missing or wrong items. And my crew were getting the heat from those mistakes. Also there were times we stayed well past our work scheduals because orders were entered incorrectly. Worst still we'd have to bust the seal open on a trailer we just loaded to completely unload i
ProsAt least you're making a check, Some flexability, Can be laid back, diversity.
ConsShipping is located in the very back, A 15 minute break is actually a 10 minute break, Same goes for 30 minute lunches, No representation, snack machines take your money, Limited parking, Micro management, Favoritism

Numbers Game and not Honest
Job was great for the first week. Manager and assistants left you alone to do your work and were helpful when you need them. You just did your work and did as many units as you can. Then they started to focus way too much on efficiency and started implanting new steps, rules, and hoops to jump through which made the job more difficult to complete. Keep in mind, they wanted you to complete a 10-20 a day with an incentive of 125. However, by adding something new everyday to try and boost efficiency, they actually brought it way down and angered a lot of workers. Within a month, the whole work environment had changed from stress-free, fun, and therapeutic, into a quiet, annoying, shut-up and do your work feel. It got really depressing after a while and no one would talk to each other. Next, they do not deliver on their incentive bonuses. A common theme Ive heard is that they never would fully deliver on their bonuses. Or worse, they would pull some other requirement out just to make sure you didn't get it. I had known multiple coworkers who had completed well over the 125 mark, and actually did well above that. The first thing they were told was, "that was okay" from management. Is that how you respond to a worker who worked like crazy for the week and passed the incentive goal? They made their achievement seem like nothing and didn't give them the bonus because their fail/pass rate was too low? This was not part of the incentive deal, which only stated they needed the hi

CLUELESS MANAGMENT, FIRES HARD WORKERS AND PROMOTES THOSE WHO DONT MAKE WAVES
I WORKED FOR CTDI ORLANDO, FIRST AS A QC THEN FINISHED OFF IN THE PACK OUT DEPT.WE ARE CURRENTLY IN THE 1ST WEEK OF DEC ACTUALLY DEC 2ND TO BE EXACT. LAST WEEK WAS THANKSGVING WEEK ,AND OF COURSE THERE WAS NO WORK ALL WEEK DO TO 'LACK OF PRODUCTION'. I WORKED FOR THIS COMPANY FOR EXACTLY ONE YEAR AND ONE MONTH, ONLY BECAUSE I ENJOYED MY COWORKERS. ALL OF WHOME ARE VERY HARD WORKERS AND GREAT PEOPLE TO BE AROUND. ON THE OTHER HAND MANAGMENT HAS NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING. ALL MANAGEMENT SEES ARE THE NUMBERS FOR THE DAY. THEY DO NOT SEE THE CODE ISSUES OR REFURB ISSUES THAT WE AS THE WORKERS DEAL WITH DAILY. ALL OF THESE ISSUES ON TOP OF THE FACT THAT WE WORK 1ST SHIFT , MEANING ALL THE ISSUES SECOND AND THIRD SHIFT LEFT BEHIND, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THOSE TWO SHIFTS DO NOT HAVE MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORS ON THEM, WE HAVE THE PRESSURE OF FIXING. BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY HAVE EYES ON US BECAUSE WE HAVE MANAGEMENT ON OUR SHIFT. WE ARE TOLD RIDICULOUS GOALS TO MAKE WHILE DEALING WITH ALL OF THESE ISSUES. WE GRIND OUT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WHILE TRYING TO STAY WITHIN SAFETY REGULATIONS AND COMPANY STANDARDS. THEN ARE TOLD BY PRODUCTION MANAGERS TO 'MAKE IT HAPPEN HOW EVER WE HAVE TO GET IT DONE' THEN WHEN WE ARE APPROACHED BY HIGHER UPS . WE ARE THROWN UNDER THE BUS FOR NOT FALLOWING PROTOCOLS THAT WE WERE JUST TOLD TO OVERLOOK. ALL BECAUSE THEY WANT THE NUMBERS SO THEY CAN SEE THE INCENTIVES AND BONUSES. ALL WHILE WE MAKE 10$ A HOUR SLAVING TO MAKE THEM RICHER. AND YES I UNDERSTAND ALL C

Circus seeks Monkeys
Are you a below average individual looking for a role in HR? Do you have the basic skills of a monkey? If so, this HR department is for you. You just need to keep a seat warm and funnel everything to corporate. But in all seriousness, the HR department is run by an immature leader with no vision or strategy. Each day is just putting out fires, changing course from the previous day's direction and covering for her because she is too busy getting her teeth whitened, a spray tan or blow out to actually do her job. (This isn't a joke... sadly.) Every situation was handled different, so there is no doubt the warehouse employees are frustrated and the company rating is so bad. There is no consistency - whoever yelled the loudest and to someone in the family - gets what they want. Never mind if we told someone else something different the day before. Inconsistency is the only consistent thing. As a HR leader with experience, certifications and a master's degree - I have to run every thing I did by someone at corporate who doesn't even know the people or the situations. She is a glorified assistant with no degree or HR certifications, yet I am expected to follow her direction. She is very simple minded; yet condescending and on the power trip of all power trips. She will take things I write and make the most trivial changes - making them sound dumber (likely because the words I use are ones she doesn't understand) - and I have to sign my name to them. So, I end up looking

perpetual temp coemployment
A typical day at work was doing your job optimally while listening to others constantly goofing off and not doing their jobs. Others were desk hopping and talking about non work related matters and it took them until 10 AM daily to start working until the next bout of gossip started. I learned to work through the distractions and do an excellent job servicing the employees and I received positive feedback from them. The management was weak and did not appreciate my hard work. I was replaced by two people due to restructuring, which did not make sense because they are paying more money for the job I did at less money. Plus I did a better job. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to show proven accuracy, courtesy and promptness amidst an environment that was dysfunctional to say the least. It was very political and it didn't matter how correct or excellent my standards for exceptional job performance stood, their bad ethics and cronyism and dishonesty were always evident. They have a knack for promoting employees into management positions that don't have knowledge of what they are managing and that don't have management experience. You are therefore held hostage to their bullying and unfair practices and you will not be assured fair treatment. On your last day you will not even get a thank you. Your agency will call you at home at the end of your work day after a year and tell you it was your last day. You won't even get to go back and collect your p

CTDI is a good place to work depending on the branch, for most of the people are friendly
you start the day off by buzzing your way threw the gate then you remove all personal items and place then in a bin to go threw a metal detector once your threw security you can go clock in and head over to your department to find out what your doing for the day once you have started I head over check over the forklift I will be using make shore every thing is functioning properly and recorded on a check off list any failures need to be reported once this has been completed start working by placing pallets in to bins and scanning them in so when they are needed they can be pulled and placed where they are needed and when trucks dock up the proper paper work is collected, unload and keep a count so the paper work can be verified and if the driver is taking a load the driver should have a tracking number, a count is kept as the truck is loaded so the paper work is verified and once truck is loaded up it gets sealed. once the dock is cleared head back and pull down work that is needed and line are stocked up and during breaks cover for other forklift operators so they can take there breaks sometimes safety can be an issue because co-workers will be more concerned going to the restrooms or to there breaks and they will not pay attention to the forklifts so I have to be aware of what is around me at all times once the day is over bad skids will be taken to where they need to go and start clean up if the second shift driver comes in and they don't need the lift it will be taken o

CTDI IS NOT A GREAT COMPANY
CTDI IS NOT A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH. THERE SOME THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS COMPANY. I'VE BEEN WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY FOR 2 YEARS AND I HAVE SEEN ALOT WHEN I FIRST STARTED WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY IT WAS GREAT UNTILL A FEW DAYS DOWN THE LINE I SEEN DIFFERENT I CANT SPEAK FOR EVERY COMPANY BUT I WANT OTHERS OUT HERE TO SEE WHAT GOES ON AT THE CTDI IN PORT ALLEN,LA TO REACH THERE DAILY GOALS TO GET BOXES THEY TOP SOLIDER THE COMPONENTS ONTO THE BOARD WHICH CAN CALL HAZARD TO THE BOXES THAT WE FIX AND CAN MAKE THEM CATCH ON FIRE. THEY LIE TO THE COMPANIES WE WORK FOR SAYING THAT WE CHANGE THINGS OUT OF THE BOXES JUST TO GET MORE MONEY AND TO MEET PRODUCTION. BOXES THAT DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM THEY FAIL THEM TO GET MORE BOXES TO MEET PRODUCTION. THE ONLY REASON WHY THEY PAST THERE ADUITS IS BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY PAY PEOPLE UNDER THE TABLE BECAUSE I DONT SEE HOW THEY PAST THEM THEY ARE SO UNORGANIZED THIS PLACE OF BUSINESS NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. THE MANAGEMENT TEAM IN THE REPAIR ARE NOT PUT OUT TO BE MANGERS THEY DONT EVEN TRAIN YOU AT THIS PLACE THE EMPLOYEES ARE CLUELESS INTO WHAT THEY DOING IF YOU GO THERE NOW AND ASK THEM THE PROCEDURE OF THERE JOB THEY WOULDN'T KNOW ALL THEY KNOW IS PRODUCTION INSTEAD OF KNOWING THE CORRECT WAY TO FIX BOXES.I WOULDN'T BE APART OF THIS COMPANY ARE EVEN SEND WORK TO THIS COMPANY I WANT EVERYONE TO SEE ALL THE LIES TO THIS COMPANY AND WHEN THEY GET READY FOR AUDITS THEY GET READY THE DAY BEFORE THERE EQUIPMENT ISNT LABEL

Large Chester County Company, Needs Better Communication
CTDI is a large company in the telecom space, headquartered in Chester County, with a global footprint. The strengths of the organization line in the Engineering and Programming disciplines. The company is almost single-minded in its focus on Top-Line Growth, to the point that they regularly agree to take on bad business opportunities for their customers that are not profitable, with the mentality of "Let's do what it takes to win the business and we'll figure out a way to make money." Sometimes this works, often it doesn't, resulting in associates being handed a losing hand with expectations of working miracles. Communication from VP level and Directors to middle management and down needs a lot of help. Changes are made to reporting structure, divisional alignment every six months with little communication about why and the expected benefit to the company or its associates. The "WHY" is rarely explained. Leader's Intent is rarely conveyed resulting in team members that are not equipped or empowered to effectively make decisions when an issue arises. On the positive side, CTDI is very civic-minded and is heavily involved in the community and with the United Way of Chester County. THe work schedule in the corporate office is very predictable and lends itself to good work-life balance. The Parsons family and other leaders in the org are good people, but they run their nearly $2 Billion company like it still has only 40 employees. They need to train, trust,
