Overall Reviews at Crete Carrier Corporation

My job at Crete was a God sent Blessing
I work in the Lenoir City terminal, and we have an amazing team, and team leaders. The work itself can be stressful, but our work environment and co-workers make coming to work every day easy. We are like a big family, all knowing we are there for each other at any given time. The company is great also. The benefits and pay are hard to beat. I plan on Crete Carrier being where I retire from.

Productive workplace
A typical day at work would consist of:
Get to work, find out what has been going on in my area that day, getting an update of where all the loads are and if there are any issues that need to be taken care of, might need to contact customers to give them an update of where their load is and when it would be delivered.
Best part of any day would be knowing that all my hard work would help out any customer with any issues they had or any issues that one of my drivers had.
Prosknowing my job was safe
Consshort breaks and lunches

Great Company
I felt very good about this company from the very start. I was able to get plenty of mile every week even the ones where i wanted to go home. I very happy working for a company that cared about me as a person rather than a number

Good people, low pay
Management is very fun and helpful. They pay is well below industry standard for office workers and you do have to work Saturdays, but the people are all great.

Will keep you productive.
Crete Carrier is one of the best carriers in the industry. They will keep you moving and help you make the most money you can legally. They stress safety and obeying all the rules and regulations put out by the FMCSA. They are a debt free company that demands loyalty from their employees.
The biggest con I have for this company is that you are working 300 plus days a year. It is difficult to get home to spend time with family.
Prospay, safety atmosphere
Consbasic trucks, hometime

A good company to start out with as OTR driver
Was very fortunate to start my career as a driver with Crete Carrier. Even more fortunate to land a position as Kellogg's Dedicated driver immediately after my training period. To stay on the fleet, driver must complete at minimum 10,000 miles per month. I averaged 10,800 per month.
ProsDuring that time, the pay was more than most other companies hiring then.
Consthe pay was less because of being on a dedicated fleet

Busy office with a lot of interactivity with home office in Nebraska
This job gave me an in-depth view of the day to day life of the trucking industry. Working closely with drivers relating to their DOT physicals, overseeing a variety of training sessions regarding hazardous materials and security, has given me a better perspective and respect for the men and women who move the freight in this country. A typical day involved making sure all on duty drivers have checked in with Dispatch; assist drivers still needing loads; schedule, review and forward DOT physicals to Safety Dept. at home office in Lincoln, Nebraska. Since the only other individual at my terminal was the Terminal Manager, it was necessary for me to be a self-starter to meet the requirements for timely, safe delivery of shipments. The most enjoyable part of this job was working with the drivers. They are all unique in their needs and personalities.
ProsHours - co-worker at terminal and all co-workers in Home Office
ConsNo definite breaks - depended on workload

Honesty and fairness
If you’re gonna drive OTR, drive for the best. I was lucky to get hired on right out of truck driving school, and I stayed there 10 yrs to retirement. If/when I go back to work, it’s the only OTR company I’d consider.
ProsFairness. Good equipment, good benefits, good pay
ConsIt’s srill OTR.

Lies
Can make money but must work EVERY AVAILABLE HOUR that is legal on paper.Drive EVERY AVAILABLE HOUR WITHOUT REGARG TO FINDING LEGAL SAFE PARKING. They have no clue. They LIE. NO COMMUNICATION. You are only as good as your LAST LOAD. Work 66.75 hours in 5 days and say you need to slow down for a day and they FORCE YOU TO DO UNSAFE DRIVING. They don't want to hear that you have worked 12 days straight 11- 14 hours a day, and are recapping, if you have hours available you drive SAFE OR NOT.
