Ho lavorato nel cinema di Londra all'interno dell'O2. Colleghi e managers persone eccezionali.
Unless you really like cleaning and standing around don't do it.
First of all it is zero hours contract with no benefit of progression within the company. with it being zero hours most of the time I only got about 8-9 hours of being at home. A typical day at work consists of either cleaning (even when on the retail) and standing around waiting to tell someone which screen they're in. for the money they expect you to do everything. which isn't worth doing. The managers are nice at first and then don't bother after you've joined. I applied to be a sales assistant not a cleaner.
Job is okay pay is terrible. Manager need to help staff more with training etc. Favouritism can be a problem at times but the job is flexible and overall okay job.
Daily duties was easy and enjoyable. It gets boring when place is dead and stressful when customers moan and insult you over stupid stuff cause as a new member you're meant to know it all! A job where you can work closely to the movie business, yes its one above the end of the line but remember because its movie business they are strict.you will lose all you've got by one mistake or problem.
I loved my job and used my common sense to keep busy. I got reported many times cause I found jobs to do??? I wondered off apparently -.- I worked my butt off! I later got dismissed due to having the flu and not calling, I emailed though, I have phobia of calls. So hey I lost what I loved cause of it. I was insulted by a manager during my meeting about my age and condition.made me sick.I then appealed by letter, the letter magically never got to them. Hmm yeah course!! If you wanna be fcked over by a supposed ladies man go ahead and join.
Proshours, some co workers, free films, easy job
Consstrict rules, unfair clock in/out rules, uniform rules, managers, pay, arrogant vain co workers
Cineworld as a place to work is a fast paced atmosphere with many tasks to do including cleaning, customer serving, hosting, Putting away deliverys and keeping things stocked.
Perks are amazing with 2 free film tickets for any film you and a friend and 40% off all food purchases in any Cineworld in the UK.
Fast paced, team orientated friendly place to work.
Typical day at work: As a team member role you are the first and last face a customer would see and would always need to regain excellent customer service. Team members would open up and close all operational equipment that they would use in the shift they are selected. They would serve on a very good day approx 6000 people. As a Supervisor you would over look the team members job and make sure it exceeds company standard and beyond. Make sure that all customers are served correctly with best service you can offer. Deal with any complaints and make sure customers are satisfied. The Supervisor would plan and organise the shift ahead and make sure the shift runs smoothly,
As a Manager you would be ahead of the Supervisor making sure they are prepared for the shift to come and make sure they are prepared to prep the team members. You would gather all information needed for the days work and make sure that nothing is missed as in live shows, swaps of screens, age ratings... You would have your own department within work such as Marketing, Human Resources, Retail, Fiance and so on these departments would then be managed by each manager.
I learnt that this environment is the best to work your way up the ladder and gain skills that you wouldn't even think of. I became a first ever supervisor there and had training to become manager. I was running management shifts.
The hardest part of the job is dealing with a lot of different customers all looking for different things with
ProsGood discounts, Good Team, Good learning grounds for stepping up.
I am a hard working, enthusiastic PA and I believe I would add value to the role and Company. I have many years experience and most recently at Board level. This has taught me to work under pressure, deal with deadlines and complete challenging assignments. I have also had a role within a political party where I learnt how to handle responsibility, use my initiative and become a trusted member of the team
My typical day does vary to the time of the year. During the bi-annual financial announcement it is very busy but I love the face pace.
Great place to work it had a real family feel to it. Quite often you have to work a lot of late nights but that was a small inconvenience considering how much fun the job was.
Nothing but a red shirt to head office but great regional teams
Enjoyed the work, colleagues and regional management but head office couldn't have been more awful. Even when going above and beyond more was always expected and never appreciated, they were rude and uncaring about the staff.
A typical day at work is fun filled and busy, I learnt all different aspects of retail during my time there, the management were helpful and co-workers were a delight to work with, the hardest part of the job was physical side of job, and the most enjoyable part of the job was the big team spirit.
ProsFree cinema ticket, decent hourly rate
ConsUnsociable hours

An interesting and enjoyable environment
Communication is key at all levels, My previous job involved development and implementation of training programmes and coaching of delegates to required levels.
Working for Cineworld gave me the chance to broaden my knowledge of equipment used within the cinema industry as well as how to instruct others in its use.
Cinema managers tended to be very passionate about there cinemas.
I was privileged enough to work with some very talented, dedicated individuals.
A diverse mixture of stakeholders though out the entire estate that makes working for the company a worth while and challenging experience.
A developed customer care culture installed at all cinemas.
Cineworld has been a great place to work in regards of finding new friends and has its benefits, but is for most people going in a stepping stone.
I loved Cineworld when I started working here.
It felt fresh and most people I started working with I got along with well. But now six and a half years later the people or most that I started working with are gone and even though I've been working here longer I feel other new members are getting treated better than me as they get more hours than me. Not only that the CEO in the company is changing our contracts against our wishes to be paid monthly against our contracted fortnightly soon with not much nottice. We have been fighting this for months now so I am not to happy as I used to be if they company is gonna screw over its employees then I don't want to work for that kind of company any more.
ProsFree movies 40% off food drink work nights out Christmas and Halloween parties.
ConsLack of hours, Short nottice of working weeks roster, Not enough nottice in the job, Lack of advancement being the only Cineworld in Ireland
Chief Projectionist was in charge of 3 in a group & ran 35mm & digital.
Co workers fine & enjoyable job.
Made redundant once all went Digital.
Money ok.
ProsMoney Good
ConsLong Hours
