Professional and Interesting Workplace
I have only began working since January 2017, but so far I find the CRA to be an interesting division in the government sector. I have so far been undertaking its orientation program and was reading information in regards to what my division's role is and how to execute our responsibilities correctly.

Good place to work
If you like numbers. Otherwise it can be very painful to get through the day. Overall I enjoyed it but when I got a transfer to the CBSA I jumped at the opportunity to leave for more money and a more exciting job.

Professional
It was a very professional and highly respectable job. The people of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) collect taxes and deliver social and economic benefits on behalf of the federal government. The 40,000 people of the CRA are an important part of Canada's economy and security. We touch the lives of nearly every Canadian. Our goal is to provide the best possible service to all Canadians through our offices across the country.

Good for short term
Good job for the short term to makeup a decent wage. The culture is very toxic and backwards and there are alot of unmotivated people you're always surrounded by.

Great people, always willing to help you when needed.
Must enjoy a desk position! Although they did have the option of adjusting the desk height to allow for standing to break up sitting all day. The supervisors and managers are fantastic and all have “been” where you are so they understand your frustrations and give great coping advice.
ProsGreat pay and benefits, awesome people.

The Canada Revenue Agency
A typical day in my position is a busy and fulfilling day filled with puzzles and discrepancies in accounts under which I must solve. I learn how to manage my time as in instances some cases may be quite time consuming. We have deadlines to meet therefore I must be diligent in time management.
I work with a great Team, we all excel at one part of the Pensions Verification Program. If lacking information in a certain area we can depend on one another to have information that may help solve the issue. We spend 7.5 hrs daily together and it is a well spent 7.5hrs. We are constantly learning together and in my Department are all Team Players.
The most difficult part of my job, I would have to say is awaiting correspondence from clients. Our clients have a deadline to submit their proof, however if it is just one day late we cannot accept their submission. Unfortunately this happens quite often and it is very disappointing to the clients, but they are notified well in advance on when their submissions are due.
The most enjoyable part of my job is solving the puzzles the difficult cases, time consuming yes, but very challenging.
ProsIn house courses, Connexions our Library and the various celebrations such as Canada Day
ConsI enjoy my job tremendously, however due to family I must look at relocating.

Productive environment with lots of challenges .. Never a boring moment.
Excellent and supportive Group of people from the directors, managers and down to the staff. Very intelligent and knowledgeable. Well organized and very pleasant to work with. Every one of them. The Directors, the Managers and the experts of all departments quite friendly and approachable and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend that office as an excellent place to work.

Needs to focus on more structure and equal opportunity in the workplace.
Work structure needs improvement. All people need to be treated equally in reference to career opportunities. Job applications take much to long to process. Too many managers. All though having said that my patience, people skills and work ethics are quite strong. Key is to not take anything personally. My experience was quite good. I thoroughly enjoyed working daily with my co-workers.

Great government career
My work with Customs prepared me for very quick and well respected marks for passing the Customs Brokers Professional Course. Well respected job within the community of importers and exporters. Prestigious job with a lot of pride in the work I was doing. Obtained a side job teaching the Customs Course to full time students at St. Clair College.
