Temporary Employee - replacement postmaster |
Spring, TX | Aug 27, 2018
Excellent work/learning enviroment that promotes peer mentoring.
Even as a temporary employee, I recognized my area supervisor worked very hard at promoting a collaborative work environment. He maintained that every employee makes mistakes and errors from which we can all learn and improve. Peer mentoring was an important part of problem solving and reaching corporate goals. Such an environment promotes work satisfaction and productivity which I have have now experienced and value geatly.
ProsGood work relations between local post offices.
ConsWhen replacing workers, lack of mileage to get to some rural locations.

Good place to work.
Early mornings. Job is pretty much the same everyday. Good management. Family like atmosphere. Quick paced environment. Your busy your entire shift so the time flies by.

Not very fun place
Processed parcels while standing on feet for 7 hours a day. Very stressful and fast-paced environment. very poor management that cares mostly about profit, bonuses and not their employees.

Depending on if you are bilingual can be a good company, does discriminate against Indigenous People however. Not upfront with everything, poor management.

People you work with are great
Very fast pace but the knowledge required is minimal. The work environment is extremely clean and safe, modern buildings. The training provided is clear and sufficient to get you started.

Environnement correct, culture correcte.
Si un employé fait ce qui est demandé, il n'aura pas de problème.
Sinon, le syndicat est là pour réglé le litige.

courteous friendly staff to work with
Fast paced hard work and physically demanding. No benefits, pension or even guarantee of hours
Get no benefits, sick time, lifting heavy items, hard physical work, sometimes get treated like garbage.
The best part of the job is helping customers.
In Christmas time starting in September to February is really stress full, EVERY BODY ARE ORDERING ONLINE, NOW PARCELS ARE BIGGER AND YOU HAVE A LOT.
There are very few people at work who are happy with their job, and most disclose quietly to one another that they feel trapped and are unhappy.
Prosstability

Low employee morale
Weak leadership with ever changing priorities. It is difficult to feel satisfied after a days work. Union environment covers up for poor performers and as result good employees feel neglected and taken advantage of.
ProsJob Security
ConsAdvancement is not based on performance but instead whom you know

Enjoyed working there
Fix it right attitude. Finished apprenticeship as Automotive Technician and as Heavy Equipment Technician. Management supported most ideas for changes that I brought forward. The co-workers were a great bunch, I am still in contact with them. The hardest part of the job was the repetative nature of the work. The most enjoyable part of the jop was the benefits, especially the time off.

I,personally, felt relaxed and confident.
I loved working at CPC, on a personal basis. However, others
felt intimated and regarded as
not valued.
There is a tenancy to keep employees on staff, who are not contributing to an overall team
spirit.
CPC, as a whole do not use
Unions efficiently.

ProsA multitude of team & skill Building.
ConsLack of cohesion among groups.
