Money
This company is not compassionate about their clients. It's all about money. They drop caregivers and clients if they do not make a high level of commission off of them.

Great Environment
BrightStar of Honolulu is a great place to work. The office environment is very open and fun. You work hard but have a good time doing it. I loved the people I worked with and it was very hard to leave but I moved to another state so I had to go. The benefits are good and they care about their employees. I would work there again in a heartbeat!

One on one care with patients
Caregiver to individuals that had the comfort of knowing they were important and not just another face in the crowd by being able to count having the same aide which who helped them on their daily tasks, specific needs and care. Just being a companion, that becomes a friend who is there to listen or just be there to keep the patient feel someone cares and a bond is created.
ProsKnowing you are making a difference in another individual's life
ConsHours were not consistent, locations changed and hours only paid while with patient and not during standby.

Better than average
BrightStar does not offer benefits to most employees and hesitates to give new LPNs work as LPNs.
Work includes ADL assistance, including meal prep. Most enjoyable part of the job is getting close to home health clients, but the hardest part is communicating with the office. Young staff and reactivity from my branch's office staff have kept my satisfaction at a surface level.
My branch has undergone many changes. Turnover is common, yet work is available in Pinellas County and they are hiring CNAs.
Prosscheduling staff, time and 1/2 pay on holidays
Consno mileage reimbursement for travel to homes, low pay, hard to advance
