Take a class in corporate politics before you work for bluegreen
I worked for this company for 6 plus years. When I first started with bluegreen I loved going to work. After about 6 months I realized there is a long-standing culture of unabashed favoritism and a lack of support for non-essential employees cares and concerns. The way I was treated by the manager and director was mean spirited, cruel, heartless and in my opinion it was vengeful retaliation for going above their heads. For the sake of space I will keep this review brief. I was experiencing extenuating personal circumstances, I requested a transfer to a different office, I was given the transfer but only temporarily. My position was terminated in a way that I could not get a severance payout and I could not get unemployment benefits. This is just one of the mean spirited, spiteful and retaliatory experiences myself and coworkers experienced within the department . I witnessed coworkers being berated and singled out for addressing the unabashed favoritism in the department and unfair negative performance reviews.

An Employer of and for the Employees
This company really stands by their employees even through the hard times. The management here wants you to succeed in this team environment and works with you to help you grow. It is imperative that you have a team player mentality here in order to succeed. Bluegreen promotes from the inside and gives due credit where it is due. Promotion is based on your efforts. If you are the kind of person that gives 110% you will do very well in this environment.

Great place to find out if you are truly ready to be a leader in corporate America
Best education I ever had. Learned way more than college and that's the real value in this company. If you are looking for something to just get by and fly under the radar look elsewhere, this is for motivated individuals only.

I feel like the company has great training but management and advancement as well as compensation are lacking.
I like where the Company is going as far as the business partners. I feel that they take half your commission for podiums are unfair and if it wasn’t for that then I would still be there. Commission is 8% which is very fair in the industry and Podium is compensated 2% which is fair but BG takes 4% of your commission and gives you only 70% of your volume for bonuses. So they are not only cutting your commission in half but also taking 30% of your volume for bonus. That is unfair in my opinion.
Being a top producer I feel like they shouldn’t sugar coat your expectations. 4% is below the industry standard and taking an addition 30% of your volume toward bonus is gauging and wrong! It’s double and triple dipping in my opinion.
Also Management says they want to promote you from within but when it comes down to it they hold you back from advancing so you can make more money for them and not yourself.
I hope this helps. Hopefully upper Management will see this and make appropriate changes to their Compensation plan. If it wasn’t for this I would be very happy there.
ProsGreat upbeat atmosphere, environment and Training
ConsLack of compensation 50% of what you should be paid in the industry and advancement

Workplace Culture
Bluegreen is a great company to work for. I learned a lot with this company. I only left because I was unable to advance unless I was willing to relocate and unfortunately my personal family life would not allow for me to relocate.

Great company for its industry
This company takes a personal approach to employees, spends time teaching them and provides opportunities to advance. The industry itself is not easy, but hard work pays off
