As a biomedical equipment technician, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of manufacturing operations including: testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and service support. You will also work closely with other technicians on projects such as diagnostics and test procedures.

Duties

The biomedical equipment technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment, including but not limited to a variety in medical devices. This position requires an individual with experience working on all types of mechanical systems (equipment, instrumentation, etc.) as well as knowledge of basic electrical wiring, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and other related machinery. Must be capable of performing routine cleaning tasks using hand tools, power tools and various laboratory equipment.

Detailed job duties include:

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including restocking and cleaning of lab equipment.
  • Review all documentation in the work order form to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels at each facility/site.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding safety practices when performing job functions, such as Aseptic Tank Inspection procedures.
  • Maintain records of daily activities with respect to quality assurance standards.
  • Provides technical support during the production process through training sessions, workshops, etc.

Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a biomedical equipment technician role with an emphasis on medical device manufacturing and/or technical support, including but not limited to: mechanical engineering, electrical design, instrumentation repair or diagnostics
  • Basic computer skills (electronics) required for the position
  • Must have knowledge of all aspects related to laboratory equipment operation such that they are used by lab personnel, operators and other staff members within their field of expertise
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality regarding material handling
