Overall Reviews at Big Brothers Big Sisters

No advancement opportunities, management keeps you down, they do not pay a liveable wage.
The programs are amazing for kids, but the pay is extremely hard to live on. They lack diversity in management and in their workforce. There are no opportunities for advancement. They offer a flexible schedule to try and compensate for the low pay.
Prosthey pay for your healthcare for you, but for dependents it is not affordable
Consno advancement opportunities

Flexible
I don't want to do a review, when they changed leadership the normal business practices changed and so did the integrity of the company. Poor leadership soon followed

Lack of true leadership and very bad culture
There is a gross lack of leadership. Management has abusive tendencies and tends to stress isolating employees in order to control the narrative communicated to the BOD.
ProsThe kids are great
ConsYou will be spoken to like you are trash on a regular basis

Best Place to Work in Rhode Island
BBBSRI is a wonderful place to work filled with diversity and an appreciation not only for the employee but for the community. I've worked in several non-profits, none like BBBSRI. The Leadership team cares for the staff and ensure they are able to meet their goals and have fun doing so! Hard work gets rewarded, training and coaching offered for staff needing improvement.
ProsExcellent compensation for hard work

Positive Workplace But Little Opportunity
Big Brothers, Big Sisters is a great place to work and launch your career. Little to no opportunity advance or move forward in your career. Pay and benefit does not support a family nor do they provide salary increase, even inflation or cost of living.
