Duties

The behavioral health professional is responsible for providing services to clients in the areas of behavioral health, substance abuse and addiction treatment. This position will be part-time with an hourly rate per week (based on experience). In addition, this position may require some travel within the state as needed. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills that can work well with others at all levels including staff members, patients, families and caregivers. Must have strong interpersonal skills, which should include good verbal/written communications skills and the ability or willingness to learn new techniques through training, education and professional development.

Detailed job duties include:

  • Prescribes and administers medications for patients with substance use disorders.
  • Provides counseling in the areas related or relevant to treatment plans.
  • Develops an understanding of client needs by providing information about their condition through consultation with physicians, nurses, social workers, etc.
  • Analyzes patient records/reports on progress toward goals as well providing referrals when appropriate.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, psychology or related field
  • Current state license as an adult mental health professional with the ability to obtain and maintain certification by the American Board of Registered Nursing for licensed mental health professionals
  • Must be willing/able to work independently within established guidelines while maintaining confidentiality regarding patient information
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills through training and experience
  • Strong organizational skills, including strong time management skills
