Acute Care
Full time is 3 12 hour shifts. Tuition reimbursement varies for PT and FT employees. Required to work 1 weekend every 3 weeks. Lots of employee turn over. Short staffing constant problem.
ProsGreat coworkers
ConsLow pay

Busy and fun
The only reason I left is because I moved out of the state. The CSPD department when I was there, was cool. Pay was cool for me I was a coordinator. Pay could have been better for the techs.
ProsCool people, helpful bunch.
ConsPay could be better. Other states starting out at $18.00+

A busy hospital that no longer values its' employees
After working at Beaumont Health System for over 20 years, sadly it isn't a sought-after place to work anymore. Management changes regularly, the salary does not compare to other institutions in the area, it's a very doctor-driven hospital where anyone else is just a number to provide a service that is easily replaceable. Hence, the culture breeds animosity and complete deflation for working at a fast pace with a very sick population. As a CRNA, you're constantly told that you're a major expense to the system and do not feel secure in your employment there. This past December Beaumont rescinded 8 job offers to new-grad CRNAs as a means to cut costs. Various "teams" of care exist which are picked by your peers as a popularity contest rather than clinical ability. There are no opportunities for regional or central line placement except for arterial lines. In the next month, OB will no longer be available since the anesthesia residents will be taking it over.

The most enjoyable part of my job is satisfying a customer.
The best part of my job is working with patients and their families providing the best customer service possible.
I have worked with the company for more than 30 years in a few different positions and my main focus is the customer.
I am a loyal employer, I’m their to do a good job and satisfy my manager and the customer.

Great place to work
Beaumont was by far the best place I have ever worked. Great benefits and a great culture to work at. It was hard and is still hard to not work there. Very good benefits and people to work with.

Good.
I great place to learn a lot about the whole body system. You’re critical thinking skills have to be on top of it. Overall the company was great. I was a travel nurse during this time so my views are most likely different than people who were core staff.

Flexible hours
You schedule yourself, Managers wont lift a finger until HR steps in. Also will load 20 patients onto you because they failed to make sure there was coverage.

Great place to work!
Working at Beaumont has given me the tools I need to thrive in my Career. I have learned more here than I think I would have learned elsewhere. The environment challenges you to be the best professional version of yourself possible.
They are a teaching hospital and treat their patients/families very well in my experience.
Great interdisciplinary teamwork in most areas. I also love my boss and co-workers.
The downfall of Beaumont is pay. It is not competitive or sustainable long term in my opinion.
If they paid employees better I think more people would stay working for them long term.
Otherwise, great place to work and would recommend it to others!

Busy!!! The telephones ring non-stop from the time you sign-in until the time you leave.
Busy and non-stop patient contact. Very fast paced. From checking in patients to checking them out and to verifying insurances and trying to confirm your patients for the next day is too much. RUN!!

Large Company
Weekends and Holidays are required which can be difficult at times, but it is necessary for this type of position. There is still a large amount of paper being used, as the transition to paperless is a long process.
