Overall Reviews at BayCare

Patient Care Technician | Dunedin, FL | Sep 3, 2020
Great
I loved working for baycare, until my manager left and they let horrid people take over. The new management was horrible, rude, dishonest. I’m not sure if they are still there, seeing as I left. But it was a great place to work and I wouldn’t mind going back (If the management) approved. - baycare alliant.

Registered Nurse - Catheterization Lab | Tampa, FL | Feb 21, 2020
Great Company
Baycare is an awesome company to work for. They care about their employees and the workplace is friendly. Most of Management are great however, the manager at that time in the Cath Lab was not so great. He has since been removed. I would definitely work with them again.

Patient Representative | Clearwater, FL | Dec 16, 2019
Good
Solid job. Steady reliable work. Left there to pursue more money at a work from home position. I learned a lot about medical collections process, billing, payment/contract issues working in a team environment.

Business Office Director | Oldsmar, FL | Apr 11, 2020
Its good if you like Healthcare
Good environment very respectful, however it takes a while tp upgrade in departments,. The hourly pay wasn't worth the sacrifice of hours you work for. Micro managed often times. They point out the good in you or the bad

Great patients and supervisors.
No enough ways to advance, when working PRN there were not enough patients in one office so had to branch out to different offices. Supervisors were great and always there if needed help. Even though I work PRN, it would be greatly appreciated to receive gas mileage reimbursement if driving over 100 miles per day. I currently average 200-250 miles per day.

Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical | Saint Petersburg, FL | Oct 13, 2017
Okay
Nurse to patient ratio on average was 5-6 patients night shift and 4-5 day shift, sometimes we would get 7. This is way too much for one person to handle. It was very unsafe at times. But the people were great.

Great people worked there!
A lot of good people in this organization. It was fun to be behind the scenes and to support the medical field. It's definitely a challenge in many ways.

Environmental Specialist | Tampa, FL | Oct 11, 2021
Few opportunities for advancement
Favoritism in management. Not allowed to take PTO even if request months in advanced. Management does take time to train staff, more focused on production than quality or safety. Difficult to apply to other positions in the company if manager doesn’t want you to leave. The pay is very low for the qualifications required for position. You have to “know somebody “ to get in. Complaints about management or suggestions to better department environment is often ignored. Overworked team leaders and quality employees while others slacked on their responsibilities, often leaving workload over to the next shift after. More than half of staff that’s been there for years left during Covid pandemic because it was very unorganized.
ProsBenefits and discounts, rewards program
ConsPay. Favoritism. Not easy to apply to other positions.

Questions And Answers about BayCare

What questions did they ask during your interview at BayCare?
Asked Jul 20, 2016
What do you feel are your weak points. It made me feel like I was being set up for failure.
Answered Mar 30, 2019
Interview was basic. Friendly atmosphere. Why do you want to work for Baycare? Are you interested in furthering your education? Are you available doing a Hurricane watch?
Answered Jan 17, 2019
How do you feel about going to work each day at BayCare?
Asked Mar 11, 2017
I use to love going to work every day at Baycare, the PFS department has gone downhill, we are required to take Customer Service calls and EAP has come in to help with the extreme stress we are now having since coming back into the office from Covid
Answered Nov 11, 2020
I pray daily they have PPE. Having to see Covid19 pts is already unnerving let alone not knowing if you’ll have PPE.
Answered Jul 2, 2020
What is the interview process like at BayCare?
Asked Aug 30, 2016
Detailed and long but after seeing the level of care and the requirements for knowledge and skills, I completely understand why. First is a laid back personality type interview, then is a more skilled based interview- skills both with technical work as well as ability to make decisions and handle responsibility and communicate effectively. Then you go through a physical, typical drug test, etc. Then is a computerized scenario testing and typing time testing. BTW, I barely missed the accceptable typing time and got accepted.
Answered Mar 16, 2019
What interview process?! Internal candidates are told if they qualify for a position they have to be interviewed except no one follows that rule.
Answered Feb 12, 2019
What advice would you give the CEO of BayCare about how to improve it?

What tips or advice would you give to someone interviewing at BayCare?
Asked Aug 29, 2016
Management doesn't care about how hard you work. There are no work ethics. The Baycare Values are non -existent. Agree with management even if it isn't beneficial for patient care and you will be okay.
Answered Mar 16, 2019
